  • Lady Shocks @ ILS and INS

Shocks lose on the road to 1st place Redbirds 62-50.

I only caught the last 10 minutes of the game. Sounds like the Ladies gave a good effort. They were right in the game trailing 40-38 at the 8:00 minute mark, but a 14-4 run by ILS over the next 4 minutes put the game away for the Redbirds.

Shocks only had 5 turnovers which is very good, especially on the road.

However, ILS was only called for 5 fouls to 16 for the Shocks. I have now idea whether that discrepancy was real or not, but that was a big factor in the game.

Sheena, Michelle and Jessica had decent games with 11, 10 and 10 points respectively. However, the Shocks were only 1 of 13 on treys.

Holding Creighton to 58 points and now ILS to 62 in back-to-back games is a positive. However, were not going to win many games if we can't put more the 50 points on our side of the ledger.

Hopefully, that will change against INS tomorrow. Drake beat Evansville by 21 at home to move into a 6th place tie with the Shocks.

Shocks really need to win against INS who are trying to adapt with their Coach Jim Wiedie suspended for the remainder of the season (and, in effect, fired as his contract that is up in June will not be renewed).

Shocks getting embarrassed at INS. Down 38-17 with about 4:00 minutes to go in the 1st half to an Indiana State team that shot 24% from the field in an 11-point home loss to Missouri State on Friday.

Shocks had a huge comeback against Indiana State at home earlier in the year but that will be much tougher to do on the road.

INS leads at the half 42-25. Not looking good.

Haleigh struggling big time with her shot. She is now 0 for her last 16 from behind the arc.

Shocks really not doing much very well other than perhaps rebounding.

On target for our 3rd consecutive 50 point offensive output.

Shocks pick up their 7th foul of the 2nd half at the 14:45 mark.

        That ain't going to help.

          INS 81 - WSU 59

Not much to talk about. Bottom lne = Pathetic.

Shocks had 3 very winnable road games at Evansville, SIU and Indiana State who were 6-31 in MVC play coming in to today. Shocks did not even sniff a win in these games.

Indiana State shoots 24% against MSU on Friday. 59% against the Shocks today.

Sheena Johnson maybe he only Shocker who showed up, atlhough not sure anyone played well on the defensive end.

Shocks chances of avoiding the play-in round took a big hit with this loss, although that really is just a matter of pride at this point...no real significance for this team other than self-respect.
