Congratulations to Marcy for her 1st Team All-Academic MVC selection and her Honorable Mention selection.
I was a little surprised that a top 5 showing in 4 statistcal categories, scoring average (5th), rebounding (3rd), blocked shots (3rd) and double-doubles (1st), was only worth Honorable Mention.
Nicole Lewis, the big Illinois State Center was on the second team. She was not in the Top 10 in scoring but was 5th in rebounding and 2nd in blocked shots.
Perhaps the success of Illinois State was the determining factor, hard to say.
I admit to a Marcy bias, but I would have placed Marcy on the 2nd team ahead of Nicole Lewis. However, I don't get a vote.
In any case, congratulations on a very fine Senior season to Marcy.
Maybe Marcy and Daria can ride the momentum of upseting Bradley on the road to another win or two in St. Charles to finish out their careers.
