This deserved its own thread ...
Kellyn Johnson won the Notre Dame last chance meet with a 4:35.35 mile run. This is an NCAA automatic qualifier, school record by 6 seconds (broke the record of a girl named Desiraye Osburn, some of you might remember her, haha), and is ranked #7 in the nation. From what I understand the top 2 girls in the nation will probably not run the mile at NCAA's because, believe it or not, they are better at the 3k/5k so that should put Kellyn in the top 5 heading into the meet.
I really hope Kellyn starts getting some recognition in the local media because I have no doubt she is the best athlete at Wichita State right now. She is probably one of the top 10 distance runners in the NCAA right now and is getting better every week. An NCAA championship next week is not out of the question, she hasn't lost a race all year!
