The Lady Shocks road woes continue as they dropped a 75-65 decision to the MSU Lady Bears.
MSU outrebunded the Shocks 36-29 and the Shocks turned the ball over 22 times (vs 19 for MSU). However, the real tale of the tape was at the free throw line. MSU made 21-25 (84%) free throws to 5-13 (38.5%) for the Shocks. Very hard to overcome a 16 point deficit from the line, especially on the road.
Daria led the Shocks with 19 points on 8-10 from the field, including 2-3 from behind the arc. However, she only had 2 rebounds which is well below par for Daria.
Marcy chipped in her 9th double-double of the year with 15 points on 7-10 from the field and 13 rebounds.
Haliegh had a good offensive outing with 12 points on 4-9 shooting, including 3-5 from the field, although she was only 1-4 from the line.
Val was also in double figures with 10 points, but it took her 11 shots including only 2-8 from behind the arc.
Marisah and Jacie struggled offensively going a combined 3-13 from the field (including 1-5 from behind the arc). Jacie also went 0-3 from the line., while Marisah offset her 8 assists with 7 turnovers.
Ashely also came up empty offensivley missing all 3 of her FG attempts.
In the meantime, MSU had 5 players in double figures, with a 6th player with 8 points, led by Freshman Casey Garrison who had 15 points.
