  • Lady Shocks at Drake

Again, I am posting the RPI Ratings and Power Ratings from RealTimeRPI.com for this week's opponents. Mostly, this is a small experiment on my part to see if these numbers are enlightening in any way. They are certainly telling different stories.

    RPI Ratings

    120 Creighton 0.5288
    159 Drake 0.5026
    182 Shocks 0.4270

    Power Ratings

    116 Shocks 53.75
    148 Creighton 51.09
    180 Drake 48.21

Hmmm, with the men's result last night, might the women win more conference games?

I'm looking forward to seeing how the kids react to going on the road.

Something they have not had to do much so far this year and a big weakness for Jane's teams that was a major factor in her lack of success at WSU.

I really have no idea what to expect on the road this year.

Glad Jill Martin finally used up her eligibility. She was one terrific player for Drake. Still Drake has some good players returning.

Looks like Drake will have a size advantage with Seniors Lauren Dybing at 6' 3" and Kelsey Keizer at 6'2" starting and 6'2' Rachel Hackbarth available off the bench. Could present some problems for Marcy and Daria on the inisde. OTOH, Daria's athleticism could cause match up problems for Drake.

Hopefully, Val can break loose for some shots tonight.

      :goshocks:

I'm really looking forward to baseball. If our youth on the basepaths leads to an unsuccessful season, I'll soon be saying "I can't wait for volleyball" !! :D
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Blowout in progress. Drake leads 58 - 39 with 10 minutes left in the game.

Foul trouble for Marcy and Daria.

Looks like our road woes are still a problem that needs to be overcome.

          :(

            Lady Shocks 60-80 Drake

A result that is a bit worse than I expected, but see the free throw differential.

            Box score observations:

Marcy and Daria just have to stay out of foul trouble - Daria fouled out with ten minutes to play. Ashley is an improving player, but it is not a good sign when she has more minutes than either of them.

Fourteen of the twenty point difference was at the line. Drake got there much more often and sank them (19 of 22) while we didn't and didn't (5 of 11).

We were outboarded 44-31, Drake's size advantage coming into play. Marisah was our leading rebounder.

Haleigh was back on the court.

She and Shantel each knocked down a three. Val is still struggling to find many shots.

Didn't get to follow the game too closely, but sounds similar to what happened to us vs Bradley.

Shocks with their best bench production of the year with 24 points. However, Drake's bench was tremendous scoring 52 points.
