Women's BB - 2008-09 Prediction Contest

I will give the winner of this year's contest two tickets to either the 2009 Volleyball match of their choice or two tickets to the 2009-2010 Women's Basketball game of their choice.

No one hit it on the nose last year but molly jabali (8-22) and wxkid23 (10-20) tied for the closest guesses. Only bragging rights were on the table last year.

If you would like to participate post your guess to include non-conference record (11 games) and the MVC regular season record (18 games).

The winner will be based on who gets closest to the overall regular season record. In case of ties, the 1st tiebreaker will be closest to the MVC record, the 2nd tiebreaker will be net point differential in the 9 MVC road games (see post below for further explanation).

The Shockers finished 2007 with an RPI of 227. Our non-conference schedule with 2007 RPI's includes the following teams:

The non-conference portion of the schedule is not exactly a murderer's row and includes 8 home games, 2 road games and 1 nuetral site game.

On the other hand, MVC conference wins may still be few and far between and Jane Albright admitted she left the cabinets pretty bare for Coach Adams.

My predictions:

Non-Conference 8-3
MVC Conference 4-14
Overall Record 12-17

MVC Road Game Point Differential: -13.6 PPG

I could see us doing an 0-fer in the conference based on the deck Coach Adams is playing with, but I'm counting on Coach Adams' intensity and drive for an upset here and there.

I'll go 6-5 non conference (at a minimum) and 7-11 in the Valley (probably best case scenario).

In order to encourage more participation I would like to change final tiebreaker from 1st person to post the winning prediction to the following:

The net point differential in MVC road games. Last year the Shox lost their 9 MVC road games by an average of 25.2 PPG.

I am hoping Jody's will be able to convey enough toughness to this team to improve on that number significantly.

If you have already posted a prediction please edit your post to include the tiebreaker prediction. Post the point differential to the nearest one-tenth and make sure you do not duplicate an existing prediction for this tiebreaking item.

This way if you agree with a prediction already made, you can still participate but your tiebreaker per above has to be different.
