Big day ahead as the Shocks take the first step in what they hope is a return to an All Sports Championship.

The women are picked 2nd and the men 5th. The key to success is to outperform expectations.

Shocks do exactly what I'd hoped for and exceed expectations.


Congrats to the ladies.....4 time conference champions!!!!!!!!!!!


The men also faired better than expected and finished 4th.


Senior Kellyn Johnson was dissappointed to finish 2nd but the team win more than made up for it.

Good job by both teams executing Coach Burns strategies to perfection in order to each team to finish one slot above their pre-race predicted finish.

MSU's Pasca Cheruiyot blistered the field and beat her old course record by about 49 seconds to win the women's 5K.

However, we got the minimum 2nd place finish we wanted from Kellyn Johnson and the Shockers #6 runner, while not involved in the scoring, finished ahead of MSU's 4th and 5th place runners.

Congrats on another MVC championship for the Ladies.

Way to go ladies! What a great accomplishment to win the MVC 4 years in a row, this is probably the most overlooked group at WSU. They just keep on winning baby!

Very solid for the guys, I think only one senior in their top 5 bodes well for Burns' recruiting efforts. Hope they can close the gap on the top 3 in the next 12 months.

Track season is just around the corner. FYI, the Shockers will be hosting their first ever indoor college meet January 16th at the Heskett Center. Should be fun!
