Deja Young - Paralympics

Deja qualified number 1 in the T47 classification of 100M dash at the 2016 Paralympics competition with a time of 12.12 seconds just ahead of Cuba's Yunidis Castillo.

Those two will face off again in the finals this afternoon.

Deja will also be competing in the T47 200M dash with the prelims on Thursday and the final on Friday.

Deja is just another of many examples of the quality student athletes Wichita State has and has had representing our school and community.

Deja Young captures the 100M gold in T47 classification with a time of 12.15 seconds. Cuba's Yunidis Castillo, who was expected to challenge for the gold medal, pulled up lame and ended walking to the finish line.

Congrats to Deja. Tough break for the Cuban runner.
