MVC Women Post-Season Play

Creighton defeated South Dakota State 76-69 and Evansville snuck by Southeast Missouri State 60-58 in WNIT first round play.

Not exactly powerhouse opponents, but hey did pick up the wins.

Drake has a 1st round game with Wisconsin-Green Bay in Des Moines on Saturday.

Up next for Creighton is a game at Marquette and Evansville travles to Lawrence to play Kansas.

#13 Seed Illinois State takes on #4 seed Oklahoma in 1st round NCAA Tournament play.

The Big XII went 4-0 today and has 4 more teams playing Sunday, all eight Big XII teams were/are the higher ranked team in Round 1.

This would be a HUGE upset if Illinois State could pull off the win.

Illinois State was pretty competitive in a 13 vs 4 matchup with OU but fell a little short losing 69-61.

OU, K-Sate and Nebraska winners today to put the Big XII at 7-0 in the 1st round of the Women's NCAA with Texas still to play.

Parity still looks like it is a couple of decades away in Women's basketball.

Edit: Texas did win so the Big XII did go 8-0 in Round 1.

Creighton 69 in Overtime (Creighton came back from a 15 point halftime deficit to force the OT)
