Drake will host Sacred Heart and Northern Iowa travels to Nebraska in Round 1. Both games are on Thursday. Should they both win, they will play each other in Round 2.

You would think they could have arranged the brackets to avoid a round 2 matchup against conference foes especially where there are only 2 teams from the conference in the tournament. Are their any other examples of that being the case in this year's NIT?

The NIT is strongly driven by geography in their pairings, of course. The third round opponent of this pod will be from UW-Milwaukee at Minnesota and Creighton at South Dakota. So, yes, you would think they could use their imagination a little more.

Might have to be the next leader of our program.

I'm not sure that moving from South Dakota to Wichita State, at least as far as women's basketball is concerned, would be viewed as a move up. South Dakota won the Summit League this year and finished with an RPI of 52. Wichita State was 8th in the Valley and finished with an RPI of 301. The Summit League ranked 17th among conferences in RPI and the Valley was 21st. WarrenNolan.com's NPI ratings for these leagues were comparable although South Dakota was rated 27th and WSU was rated 297th in the NPI.

Not nitpicking but shouldn't you be quoting @SPEShoxAlum? I was just pointing out her reputation
