  • Shockers v Illinois State (Thursday, 7pm) and Indiana State (Saturday, 2pm)

The Shockers close the regular season at home this (almost) weekend. With the Valley tournament next week, the last set of games are moved up one day from the normal Friday-Sunday schedule.

The Shocks take on Illinois State on Thursday. With a win, they move into a tie with the Redbirds and have a chance at the #7 seed in the conference tournament.

Illinois State are led by Octavia Crump at 11.7 ppg and Shakeela Fowler at 11.2 ppg. The leading rebounder is Viria Livingston at 6.3 rpg. Their opponents outscore them by eleven points per game. The Redbirds thumped the Shockers 70-49 on the opening weekend of the conference season when the Shocks were just getting injured players back and trying to figure out who the team was.

The leading scorer for Indiana State in conference play is Cierra Ceazer at 14.1 ppg, the only player in double figures. Joyea Marshall leads the rebounders at 8.6 per game. In the Valley, they outscore their opponents by two points per game. The Sycamores beat the Shocks 59-33 in the opening weekend of the conference schedule.

The Shockers continue to be led in Valley play by Rangie at 15.4 ppg and TaQuandra at 12.8 ppg. Rangie is the leading rebounder at 7.4 rpg. Opponents outscore the Shocks by eleven per game.

Shocks fall to the Redbirds 49-53. A little surprised. Thought the Shocks would get this one. In any case, Illinois State clinches 7th place and a play-in game against Evansville who is now 1-16.

Regardless of how Saturday's games come out the Shocks and Bradley are locked into the 8-9 game in the play-in round of the Tournament.

UNI is in great shape to capture the regular season championship. Their 73-64 win at SIU tonight gives UNI a 1-game cushion over MSU and Drake with only lowly Evansville standing in their way Saturday.
