The Lady Shocks have been picked by Valley coaches as the favorites to win the 2016 Valley Softball regular season title. However, MSU actually received more first place votes (4 vs 3 for the Shocks) and UNI, picked 3rd, also received a 1st place votes with Drake and Illinois State closed behind the Panthers in point totals. It appears the coaches are anticipating a very competitive race this year.
Cacy Williams, Brittany Fortner and Mackenzie Williams are preseason All-Conference picks.
