Or, for those of us more challenged, fixed. Not adjusted for tie-breakers or potential tie-breakers, simply based on % at this time.

Tough hitting day with the cool windy conditions and a strike zone that at times was wide enough to drive a small automobile through but the Shocks eventually got it done with a little help from the Evansville defense.

Katie battled through 4 innings giving up only the 2-run homer to left in the 1st inning but she wasn't at her sharpest. After she gave up a lead-off double in the 5th HCKB went to Jenni Brooks with the Shocks leading 3-2. Jenni was outstanding pithing 3 innings of 1-hit, scoreless relief to pick up the save and give Katie the win. I thought Jenni's change-up was particularly good today.

Senior Brianne's Bond dad threw out the 1st pitch and did a nice job but had to go overhanded. Melanie and Layne played the entire game and Brianne and Erin made pinch hit appearances so all 4 Seniors got into the game today.

The Shocks needed the sweep and the got 'er done.

          Other Series

          Drake 1-2 Bradley

          Northern Iowa 1-2 Missouri State

          Loyola 0-3 Illinois State

Southern Illinois 1-1 Indiana State (One game lost to rain)

          Current Standings
          Code:
          17-7 Drake
          16-7 Missouri State
          14-9 Illinois State
          13-9 Northern Iowa

          13-10 Southern Illinois
          12-11 Indiana State
          12-12 Bradley
           3-20 Loyola
           2-21 Evansville

          Next Weekend's Series

          Shockers at Loyola
          Illinois State at Drake
          Missouri State at Southern Illinois
          Indiana State at Northern Iowa
          Bradley at Evansville

The Shockers are percentage points out of fourth place and a single bye in the Valley tournament. They have to do one game better than Northern Iowa next weekend to reach that. The Panthers must be chagrined that the two games they lost to weather were Loyola and Evansville. There are other permutations, the best of those having the Shockers finish second and receive a double bye.

Those are weekend series results (in games), not scores of games. You are right. I read the Loyola game writeup as a Sunday game when it was actually the second game Saturday. Loyola hung on for a win today (per the Illinois State site).

The corrected information is given below.

              Other Series

              Drake 1-2 Bradley

              Northern Iowa 1-2 Missouri State

              Loyola 1-2 Illinois State

Southern Illinois 1-1 Indiana State (One game lost to rain)

              Code:
              17-7 Drake
              16-7 Missouri State
              13-9 Northern Iowa
              [COLOR=#ffd700][B]14-10 Shockers[/B][/COLOR]
              13-10 Illinois State
              13-10 Southern Illinois
              12-11 Indiana State
              12-12 Bradley
               4-19 Loyola
               2-21 Evansville

              Next Weekend's Series

              Shockers at Loyola
              Illinois State at Drake
              Missouri State at Southern Illinois
              Indiana State at Northern Iowa
              Bradley at Evansville

With the corrections noted by @ShockTalk:, the Shockers are actually in fourth place, a spot which gives them a single bye in the Valley tournament. With the right kind of weekend in the Valley, the Shocks can still get second place and a double bye. The eight teams that will qualify for the tournament are known. Only the seeding remains to be determined.
