Kelsey yields a bunt single and a walk but escapes the fourth inning unscathed. To complete the game, she will have to see some of these hitters a second time. Given the leash HCKB seems to have on her, this might be interesting.

Right now, I think she could get a hit if the pitch was behind her.

The Shockers tack on another run in the fifth. Liz walks and Hunter, her pinch runner, moves up on Macklin's sac bunt. Hunter moves to third on Melanie's infield single and scores as Melanie is caught stealing. Kelsey has a 1-2-3 bottom half of the inning.

        Shocks lead 8-5 after five.

A walk to McKenzie and Macklin's two-out homer add a couple of insurance runs in the Shocker seventh. With two outs, Kelsey runs into trouble, giving up a walk, single and hit-batter. She had retired nine in a row. Jenni comes on to try to get the last out. She is called for an illegal pitch, scoring one for the Braves, and then gives up a two-run double. Jenni finally ends the game by inducing a groundout.

            Shockers 10-8 Bradley

Kelsey gets the win in relief. She goes 4.0 innings, giving up two hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Kelsey has made a lot progress since the beginning of the season, and HCKB is obviously not reluctant to call on her.

It was a nice job by Kelsey but she did not close out the Braves in the 7th. With 2 outs she loaded the bases giving up a walk, a single and a hit by pitch.

Jenni Brooks was then brought on in relief. Bradley scored a run on an illegal pitch and then 2 more on a double to make it 10-8 and they have brought the tying run to the plate.

Finally, Jenni gets a ground out to 1B to end the game.

Make that final score Shockers 10 - Bradley 8.

                Game Two

This one belongs to someone else, at least all of the early part.

Yes, in bouncing back and forth, I found myself in an inning-ending strikeout in LiveStats - just not the seventh inning. My bad.

The only run through four innings in the second game came in the Shocker third. McKenzie doubled, moved to third on a sac bunt and scored on Kelli's single. Jenni is in the circle for the Shocks.

What a difference 30 minutes make. A fast-pitch softball game has broken out.

Great job by Jenni so far.

In the sixth, Brittany walks and is brought home by a Mackenzie triple.

Shockers lead 2-0 after six complete.

Would have been nice to score Mackenzie from 3rd with only 1 out.

Heckuva job by Jenni. 4-hit shut-out after the slugfest in Game 1. Very nice and perhaps one of Jenni's best efforts as a collegian.

                                :encouragement:
