The Shockers host the Cowgirls of Oklahoma State to complete this year's home-and-home series with a Wednesday game starting at 6pm, weather permitting. The Shocks won the first game of the series on March 11 by a score of 11-8.
Oklahoma State is the preseason pick for fourth in the seven-team Big 12. Their overall record is 17-21 with a conference record of 1-5. They were swept in a three-game series with 23 Kansas this past weekend. Tiffany Mikkelson (OPS of 1.190), Shelby Davis of Goddard (.979) and Vanessa Shippy (.973) lead the hitters for the Cowgirls. Brandi Needham (ERA of 3.98 and WHIP of 1.56) has more than double the innings of any other pitcher on the staff. Meagan Lively and Jessi Hafner, a freshman who played at Carroll, are next on the innings-pitched list.
