I watched a replay of the game on ESPN3. While they gave Lizzy Wendell plenty of props they were all over Alex and her great career including a very nice Up Close look at Alex and her career at halftime by Bruce Heartl. If the coverage and praise Alex received last night is any indication (and it may not be) then she may receive the POY honor she so richly deserves this year. Can't do much about last year's faux pax by the league but they can make up for it a little bit by also making Alex the Defensive Player of the Year which IMHO she also richly deserves.

BTW, the broadcast did have accurate numbers on Alex's career scoring. 1,559 coming into the game. She now has 1,582 and trails Alison Daniels at 1,638 by 56 points.

That she did. The Shocks RPI improved nicely to #44 with the win over Drake. We have 3 regular season games remaining. At home on Sunday vs UNI (113) and on the road at Evansville (248) and at Indiana State (151).

The Shocks did clinch at least a 2 seed in the Valley Tournament so we will be playing either Evansville (248) again or one of the bottom three RPI killers in the league who have RPI's ranging from 309 to 326.

Still if the Shocks win out and through the Valley Tournament semis and lose in the final they will be 28-5 with a pretty solid non-conference performance including a quality 51-54 loss at Tennessee which is currently sitting at #2 in the RPI. The only real blemish on our record was the debacle at Eastern Washington (149).

Hopefully, the Shocks just win out and finish at 29-4 and remove any doubt. But winning the Valley tournament will be no easy chore. The semi-finals and finals in particular should be tough games. Especially for a team that probably is the shallowest in terms of depth in the league.
