I've seen no report in the paper or on Goshockers.com Anyone know anything about Missouri State. Nice and well deserved article about Alex by Lutz, whom I've never seen write anything about Women's sports.

Although they lost to Evansville 56-65 to open the conference last weekend, they turned around and beat Indiana State 74-66 on Sunday. Their season record is 4-9. Their site says the game is available on ESPN3. GT is here. I will leave it to @1972Shocker: for a more in-depth look at the Bears.

I don't know that I can tell you a whole lot about Missouri State. I was surprised that they did handle Indiana State last week. They actually led that game 44-22 at half and then held off an Indiana State rally in the 2nd half to win by 8. That game in and of itself tells me they are very capable of beating the Lady Shocks.

MSU does have some good size in 6-2 Jr Hillary Chvatal, 6-2 So Onye Osemenam and 6-3 So Rachel Swartz plus they have a couple of 6-1 players. The dominated Indiana State on the boards 47-29.

OTOH, MSU turned the ball over 26 times against the Sycamores and they average 19 turnovers a game. That may be a weakness the Shocks can exploit.

Looks like MSU goes about 10 deep so, like just about everyone else, they will have a depth advantage over the Shocks. 5-10 RJr Kenzie Williams, who missed most of last year and received a medical redshirt, is a very good player. I suspect that Alex will be assigned to try to keep Williams under control. Tyonna Snow, a 5-10 Jr. guard, is probably MSU's best athlete. She missed the 1st 8 games this year with a foot injury. The Bears are 3-2 since she returned to the lineup. 5-9 Fr. guard Liza Fruendt was averaging 14.3 PPG after 6 games before be sidelined with a stress fracture in her foot. She was initially thought to miss about a month but I don't know what her current status is. I don't know too much about the rest of the roster other than that MSU is pretty young. They have one Sr. in Nijay Gaines who plays about 15 MPG off the bench, a strong trio of Jrs in Williams, Snow and Chvatal, 3 sophs and 6 frosh.

Keys for the Shocks are pretty much the same as always. Avoid foul trouble and injuries to the starting 5 and hopefully be able to score enough to grind out a win.

Bingo! I'll be watching on ESPN3 and hopefully having lots to cheer about.

WSU 26 MSU 23 just under 7 mins to go.

Fouls for Shocks may be an issue. Bears in the bonus. Harden having a nice game. Bears have adjusted to our press and have gotten some easy baskets.

28-26 Shocks. 4:49 to go till half.

I am impressed with the adjustments that MSU has made. Early in game Harden was scoring on dribble drive to basket. MSU has taken that away.
