  • Wichita State vs Evansville - Noon on Sunday December 4th

Not a lot of attention being given to Evansville. I has expected Evansville (5-6, 1-0) a upper division Valley team this year and they may yet be. The Aces opened the season Friday with a 65-56 win at Missouri State.

The Aces do have so very good players in Sara Dickey, Mallory Ladd, Khristian Hart and Sasha Robinson. Looks like Evansville goes about 9 deep so they will have a depth advantage as almost every team does against the Shocks.

I suppose it will come down to how the Aces can handle the Shockers pressure defense and I would expect the Shocks will be seeing more zone today as well.

This has the potential to be a very tough game for the Shocks.

Do we get in free with men's tickets like usual with a 2 sport double header?
Brummett throws, STRUCK HIM OUT! THE SHOCKERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! AN UNBELIEVABLE STORY!

Another grind it out win for the Lady Shocks that was a lot closer than the final score of 52-44 would indicate as the Shocks once again played outstanding defense but struggled on the offensive end.

With the Shocks leading 46-44 Michaela Dapprich hit the key shot of the game knocking down her patented 3-pointer from the top of the key to put the Shocks up 49-44 and Alex and Jamillah hit 5 of 6 from the line to close the game out.

Kind of an ugly game but a win is a win. Again the Shocks get little to no production from their bench in a combined 20 minutes of play. I think this is just the way it is going to be and will probably make this year a real grind (as we are seeing) and it certainly doesn't bode well for next year.

We have five players. I spoke with two of them who said they were exhausted, especially with getting up at 5:30 for a 6:00 a.m. shoot around. Bottom line, we won and will most likely win the Valley. I don't want to think about next year as I believe our run is done.

The Shockers are tenth in the mid-major top ten poll that Graham Hays does for espnW on a bi-weekly basis. They replace Indiana State.
