Obviously a great performance by Alie with 31 points, but the most encouraging thing was the quality minutes by Brittany.

We need some bench play from anyone. Brittany is tall, tough and very rough. If she blocks shots, rebounds and doesn't turn it over, she helps.

66-20. Had 'em doubled at 41-20 before a 25-0 run to end the game (11+ minutes).

Not the worst Winthrop team either....not exactly at large material, but not bottom four Valley either.

Becky Endicott said Jamillah was suspended indefinitely for breaking team rules. When or if she would be back would depend mostly on how Jamillah responds and acts.

Yes, and for the most part she did that especially down the stretch. She also hit a nice 12 foot mid-lane jumper and she doesn't look horrible shooting free throws. She has a long ways to go but this was clearly her best game as a Shocker.

Hmm. Steve the Play-by-Play Guy told me a one-game suspension, but maybe that was a minimum and the maximum is dependent on her.

Well the Lady Shocks don't play again until next Sunday so it is certainly possible she will be back by then although Sam Houston State may be worse than either ULM or Winthrop were so it may not be that critical. It would be nice to have Jamillah back for Valley play.

Though I think she is a nice player; she's been in a slump, showed a bit of an attitude and we played better tonight without her. Who knows where this might go. She's known to be awfully stubborn and doesn't respond well to criticism, so the suspension could be long or she learns a lesson.

The Wichita Eagle reported that Jamillah's suspension was 1 game. Inline with what @flyingMoose was told.

Jamillah Bonner and her 11 points per game average were on the bench Saturday due to a team-imposed one-game suspension.
