      Indiana State 65 - @Indiana 61 in OT (Very nice win for the Sycamores)
      @Souhtern Illinois 67 - Mercer 52
      Drake 62 - Fordham 56 in San Antonio

        Wednesday - December 3, 2014

        Evansville 89 - @Murray State 83 in OT. Nice road win for the Aces who got a combined 71 points, 22 rebounds and 14 assists from Sophs Sara Dickey (37-4-3) and Sasha Robinson (17-11-3) and Senior Mallory Ladd (17-7-8) including a combined 10-10 from the line. Kind of sloppy game though. Evansville with 20 turnovers but Murray State trumped that with 27 turnovers.

        Loyola 45 - @Missouri 56
        Colorado State 69 - @Drake 56

        Valley Women: 21-38 In scanning the remaining non-con schedule I would guess the Valley will just tread water through the rest of the non-con and finish the non-con well below 0.500

        The Valley women have been impacted by injuries this season. Preseason All-Conference pick and reigning Vallley POY Kyndall Clark injured her knee after only 1 game and is out for he season. Tyonna Snow, one of MSU's top 2 players has a foot injury and has not played this year but is expected to return in time from Valley play. Illinois State also is dealing with a few injuries and aren't a very deep team. Northern Iowa is also down a couple of good players in Hannah Schonhardt and Brittni Donaldson.

            Friday - Saturday - Sunday -- December 5 -7:

            @ Wichita State 55 - Arkansas-Pine Bluff 26
            @ Bradley 76 - Missouri 64 (Bradley picks up its 1st win)
            @ Missouri State 75 - SIU-Edwardsville 69 (Missouri State picks up its 1st win)
            @ Evansville 51 - Miami (OH) 41
            Drake 80 - @ Idaho State 66
            Illinois 86 - @ Southern Illinois 42
            @ Indiana State 62 - Indianapolis 43
            UT Martin 79 - @ Illinois State 46
            @ Northwestern 70 - Loyola 33

            Some progress on the winning % front with the Valley going 6-3 this weekend but the 3 losses were absolute blowouts.

            Valley Non-Con Record: 28-42

              Monday - December 8:

              Creighton 58 - @ Norhern Iowa 56

              Valley Non-Con Record: 28-43

              Tuesday - December 9:

              @ Evansville 81 - Oakland City (D-II) 40

              Westhern Illinois 75 @ Bradley 63

              Valley Non-Con Record: 29-43 Conference RPI: 19th out of 32

              Wednesday - December 10:

              Arkansas 59 - @ Missouri State 50

              Valley Non-Con Record: 27-45 Excluding Non-D-1 games. Like the Valley men the there is a clear demarcation between the Top 5 Valley women's teams and the bottom 5. The Top 5 are a combined 22-13 which is okay. The Bottom 5 are a combined 5-32 which is decidedly not okay.

              Thursday - December 11:

              @ Northern Iowa 56 - North Dakota State 41

              Valley D-1 Non-con Record: 28-45

              Friday & Saturday - December 12 & 13:

              @ Wichita State 51 - Kansas State 48
              Southern Illinois 75 - @ Austin Peay 65
              @ Norhtern Iowa 62 - Dartmouth 46

              Valley D-1 Non-Con Record: 31-45 Conference RPI still 19th out of 32 but the Valley could easily move up several notches with a strong close to the Non-Conference schedule.

                  Chicago State 62 - @ Bradley 59 (Chicago State was #312 in the RPI, Bradley #310. A really bad home loss)
                  @ Evansville 94 - Troy 82
                  @ Drake 102 - Northwestern College (IA) 58 (Not counted in Record - NAIA opponent)

                  @Toledo 64 - Southern Illinois 48
                  @Dartmouth 70 - Loyola 58 in OT

                  The Valley is 16th among 32 conferences in RPI and 22nd in the Nolan Power Index. At this point the Valley has only teams in the Top 100 of the RPI. WSU is 47 and INS is at 60.

                      Pretty obvious Coach Moren knew a little about the game, both in the direction and progress of your program and in her decision to hire Coach Wells.

                      Interesting that in her new gig at Indiana, she played ISU (was that already set up?) in Bloomington and that's IU's only loss this year. While the Trees have only lost to a more than decent Stetson team so far.

                      I think it's pretty clear the ISU is the favorite to win the league at this point. We're just not deep enough or consistent enough, imho, to get there.

                        The game at IU was already set, Moren left ISU in the middle of the summer and Wells was promoted almost immediately. The girls all wanted him promoted to head coach. It has worked out well.

                        IU will probably never schedule ISU again though, LOL

                        ISU is deep, our bench outscored the St John's bench today 54-0

                          That's all for the Valley until next Sunday. Illinois State looks like they will go 0-11 in the NonCon.

                            We won't have to wait long at all to found out how INS and WSU stackup as the Sycamores open Valley play in Koch Arena on January 2nd.

                            I share your concerns about the Lady Shocks' consistency and depth.

                                Sycamores show up in the AP poll this week.

                                Find the complete NCAAW Week 2 rankings on ESPN. Includes the full votes and trend for the top 25 NCAAW teams.

                                WSU and ISU's RPI are at 40 & 31, respectively.

                                Glad our game is on ESPN3 on the 2nd.
