Here's how I have it figured for women:

The Lady Shocks should score around 70 points on Day 1 vs around 40 for Indiana State primarily on their strength in the Pentathlon.

On Day 2 I have projected the Shocks to accumulate another 70 points while Indiana State picks up about 90 points.

That would give the Shockers a 140-130 advantage. That's really not much. Only a 5 point swing from the Shockers over to the Sycamores would make it 135 all. This could easily happen especially considering that the Shocks and Indiana State are very close in their performances on a number of events.

Could very well come down to the final event of the meet, the 4x400 relay were the two teams best performances are very close.

The Shocks need to be strong in the Pentathlon, get a big meet out of Nikki Larch-Miller and hopefully steal a few 7th and 8th place finishes here and there to add a few very valuable points.

I am mostly putting this out there just to see if I have any understanding at all of this sport which is a very questionable proposition.

they're only showing finals on Saturday, so the 5000's, 200's and DMR's. The broadcast starts at 6:15pm central. the 5000's start at 6:15pm I think.

WSU’s Nikki Larch-Miller owns the MVC’s top pentathlon score (4,005 points) and is second in the 200-meter dash (24.37 seconds) and the 400 (55.10) and third in the 60 (7.58). She is also first in the 60-meter hurdles (8.42).

Teammates Breanne Borman (3,953) and Jenny Pinkston (3,882) rank second and third in the pentathlon.

Shocks pick up 27 very important points in the pentathlon as Breanne Borman, Nikki Larch-Miller, Jenny Pinkston and Jaclyn Weber went 1,2,3 and 6.

I was expecting the 1-2-3 finish but Jaclyn's 3 points for her 6th place finish are bonus.

Nikki Larch-Miller just destroyed her PR and set a Unidome record in knocking off multiple year champ Katie Wise from Indiana State in the 60 dash and the team title race is now ON!

Love those twins....amazing young women. Congrats Nikki (and Taylor who finished 7th)!

She's also the first athlete to double in the 60dash and hurdles in the same meet.

That's 28 points now for Nikki...2nd in the Hept and champ in the 60 dash and 60 hurdles.

Not sure if they factored in Alethia Marrero for ISU not running in the 800 or not. Zero points when the Trees would have expected 10. Shocks got a point out of the race as well.

Shocks are going to have to have a great 3k....GREAT to have any chance to win the meet. They trail ISU by 9.5 with 3 events to be scored. They sit 3rd a couple of points behind SIU.

The Lady Shocks finish 3rd in a very competitive meet.

                        1. Indiana State - 122; 2. Southern Illinois 119; 3. Wichita State 103.5

                        Tremendous effort by Nikki Larch-Miller.

I thought the Lady Shocks might be in trouble when they only scored 45 points on day one. I was expecting quite a bit more than that on day one.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa ? The Wichita State men's track and field team claimed a second place team finish with 117 total points, while the women's team collected 103.5 points and a third place finish at the 2015 Missouri Valley Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Congratulations to Shocker Sophomore Nikki Larch-Miller who was selected as the Women's Most Outstanding Track Athlete of the MVC Championship. SIU Freshman Raven Sanders won the Women's Most Outstanding Field Athlete.

Nikki also won the Women's Most Valuable Athlete award that goes to he top point scorer of the meet. Nikki totaled 34 points from the Pentathlon (8), 60M Dash (10), 60M Hurdles (10) and Long Jump (6). She also participated on the women's 4x400 which finished 5th for 4 points.

Nikki recorded a new meet, school and personal record in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.32

Congratulations to Nikki. Very well deserved recognition. Looking very much to what this young lady can accomplish over the remainder of her Shocker career.
