I was at TRYC this weekend and people were talking about coach Ricketts. They said that she left WSU for a job in Mississippi?
Can anyone confirm this?

I attempted several google searches and could not find any results that would indicate anything like this.

But sometimes those changes are officially announced well after the fact. The jump in offense from the Shockers this past season (the team OPS jumped from .612 to .806) would certainly get CoachR a look-see from other programs though.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that Coach R did not take another position, just that I could not find anything on the Internet about it as of that time. I agree after the tremendous season that Coach R would garner a lot of interest. Hate to hear that she has left, but hope she does well at Mississippi.
Good luck to Coach Ricketts unless we are playing them. No doubt the performance of our hitters this past season opened some eyes.
Let's see where HKCB goes with this opportunity.
One small positive is that unless HCKB hires another Samantha we will no longer have to refer to our softball assistants as Pitching Sam and Hitting Sam.
Anyone know about a Brighton Gilbert 2017 out of OK committing to Shocker softball? I saw something on twitter but couldn't find anything to confirm it.
I may have missed the announcement or my memory is failing me (a distinct possibility) but Ashlynne Neil, a Juco RHP from College of San Mateo (CA) seems like a new name to me.
Ashlynne was 25-3 for San Mateo last year with 2.45 ERA over 154 innings. She only gave up 4 home runs last seasons. Compare that to the 31 home runs Sloan Anderson gave up in 154.1 innings last year.
I think you are correct, @1972Shocker, in not seeing an announcement of any sort.
Ashlynne was the 2014 Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year. (CSM also had the 2013 POY who is now at Lindenwood, a D-II school in Illinois.) She also was on the All-State team. CSM was the Coast Conference champion and the NorCal champion, and Ashlynne is listed as a Shocker transfer on this list of CSM players receiving awards of various sorts. CSM finished fourth in the state tournament despite being the #1 seed going in. Apparently, the California jucos are not members of the NJCAA and play to a state championship rather than participating in the Juco National tournaments.
Here is an article about Ashlynne and another transfer from Feather River College where they played their freshman year.
It certainly remains to be seen, but I would expect Ashlynne to be the #3 behind Katie and Jenni to start out. If the coaching staff expected her to be the #4 behind incoming freshman, Kelsey Sternecker (Maize South), there would be no sense in bring her in at all.
EDIT: Hunter Stohlmeyer, a pitcher from Iowa, is no longer on the roster. I am sure she is a nice kid from a nice family, but she simply never demonstrated she could contribute at this level.

Has anyone heard anything about a new WSU softball assistant coach? I have heard former Mizzou standout and current MSSU assistant coach Nicole Hudson has accepted this position, but I have not found anything to confirm it.
