The Shockers play 17/18 Tulsa a single game Tuesday at 5pm. The Shocker web site game article is here.
Tulsa is the scourge of Conference USA. They are 32-2 overall and 9-0 in conference. In games of interest, they have wins over Northern Illinois, Creighton (2), Western Illinois (2), Bradley and Missouri State. One of their three losses was to Oklahoma.
They are led in the circle by Aimee Creeger who today was named Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time. Her ERA is 0.99 with a WHIP of 0.92. She has given up more walks (50) than hits (44) in her 105.2 innings. She has about half of their starts with Caitlin Sill (ERA of 1.31 and WHIP of 1.02) and Bailey Erwin (0.97 and 0.89) having the other starts. Pick your poison.
The offense is led by Jill Barrett (BA of .504 and OPS of 1.185), Jill Roye (.397 and 1.057), Cierra Hughes (.369 and 1.029) and the list goes on (two more with an OPS above .900).
Tulsa, and later Oklahoma, are the best teams we will play this year.
The Shockers now have a record of 20-12 and a mark of 7-2 in the Valley. PaigeL and Cacy continue to lead the offense with the pitching always hopeful.
