Lady Shox are a 14-seed playing against Penn State in the Stanford region (playing on their home-court). South Carolina is the 1-seed in that region; Stanford is the 2-seed.
If they won, they would play the winner of Dayton (6-seed) vs Florida (11-seed).The Assman

This is what GoShockers tweeted, but is 11:30pm the correct time or just a typo I assume? Seems like a really late start for a game in PA

I don't know much about Penn State but they draw pretty well so it will definitely be a hostile environment. PSU averaged 5,630 in home attendance this year so I would anticipate a crowd of around 6,000 for this game.

Their other 3 starters are 6-3 Sr. F Ariel Edwards (15.4 PPG, 6.0 RPG), 6-3 Sr. F Talia East (7.9 PPG, 7.3 RPG) and 6-5 Jr. C Tori Waldner (5.1 PPG, 5.6 RPG).
The top 4 reserves are 6-2 Fr. G/F Kaliyah Mitchell, 6-6 So. C Candice Agee, 6-3 Fr. G/F Peyton Whitted and 6-3 Fr. F Alex Harris.
The starters are very experienced while the reserves are young but have gotten much more playing time this year than we have given to our freshman class.
While Alex and Jamillah may be able to match up with Lucas and Taylor OK we are a significant disadvantage just about everywhere else. OTOH, Penn State also matches up very well with Alex and Jamillah, arguably our 2 best players.
Our only chance is if we can somehow rattle this team with our pressure defense and get a ton of run-outs and transition baskets. We are going to have great difficulty doing much work in the interior against this kind of size. Rebounding, not exactly our strong suite, could also be an issue. Hopefully, Penn State will be looking past us to the next round.
Hate to say it but I think our stay in the Tournament will be very short-lived. I would expect Penn State will be favored by 15-20 points in this one.
A Shocker win would be by far the biggest win in program history. Good luck Ladies. Give it all you have and will see what happens.Last edited by 1972Shocker; March 17, 2014, 09:27 PM.
