I guess being pegged to finish 8th is not surprising. I suppose hope springs eternal but depends on good pitching. Year 3 of Coach Bredbenner's tenure. I have no problem giving Coach B a full five years but we need to start seeing some improvement at some point.

At a glance, our schedule looks a little stronger than last year but without Creighton our conference should be weaker. So our overall record might not be much better this year but we should do better in conference. With Creighton gone, we better finish higher than 8th place.

I have heard that Carney is out for the season with a knee injury she suffered over Christmas break. Not sure if she will redshirt and come back next year or if she's done. This is a big loss.

How did that happen? Basketball? Snow skiing?

The 2014 Outlook noted that she is not playing this spring. She is the only legitimate all-conference player on the team, so yes, this one hurts.

Not bad at all. Should be able to get all 5 games in.

If I were a college coach I would forbid my players to play basketball, snow ski, ride motorcycles, play dodge ball, etc..... A lot of baseball coaches have similar rules.

Looking ahead on the schedule, Thu, 3/6 could be a fun game. UMKC and WSU exchanged players over the summer, Kaitlyn Carey from WSU to UMKC, and Liz Broyles from UMKC to WSU. Both Teams are now in Louisiana playing in separate tournaments.
