CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The Wichita State softball team opened its season by dropping two games Saturday in the Chattanooga Shootout at Jim Frost Stadium. The Shockers dropped a 5-2 decision to Kentucky in the opener, before suffering a 9-3 setback to UT-Chattanooga in the late game.
The Shox (1-2) won the first game of the season today against undefeated Kentucky (2-1), 6-2.
The Shox were led by freshman pitcher Brianna Smet's 4 and 1/3 innings, allowing just one run. senior Britnee Barnett homered in the third to drive in 3 runs.
Our next opponent will be Chattonooga (1-1) at 11:45 A.M. today.
Shocks also comeback to defeat Chattanooga by a 4-2 score.
Good job by the Lady Shocks to recover from a shaky opnening day.

Wow, good job Lady Shocks! Both those opponents, Kentucky and Chattanooga, were both picked high in there conferences. Chat 1st in the SoCon, and Kentucky 5th in the SEC.
