I haven't heard if Dap is back for us, but if not, we're likely 6 deep going into tomorrow's game at K-State. I don't know much about K-State, but we'll certainly have to rebound big, stay out of foul trouble, shoot well from the line and bring our "A" game. It will be televised on 22.

Big Dap was on crutches at the Men's game vs Tennessee State this past Saturday. I doubt seriously that she will be ready for K-State. Not sure if Jody reported on Dap's injury on her Monday radio show or not.
I don't understand the refusal to play the younger players just because they are not ready for this level of competition. The fact of the matter is we have a team loaded with D-1 newbies and the only way they are going to learn is to go though some fires. Besides it is not likely they could do worse than the short bench we went with in the St. Joe game. Not sure you can be successful with a 7-player rotation with the way fouls are being called this year unless you back off and play defense very passively and that's not going to happen (nor should it).
K-State is 2-1 with a blow-out win over Tennessee State and an 8-point win over Charlotte at home. However, in their last game K-State imploded on the road losing by 45 (39-84) at UTEP.
K-State has added some size to its roster this year with a 6-5 and two 6-3 players in their Freshman class who are playing 54 MPG between them so far. These 3 have been foul prone so far picking up a total of 33 fouls in 3 games between them. That's an average of about 8.2 per 40 minutes per player.
That doesn't necessarily bode well for an undersized, rebounding challenged WSU team. Shocks will need to take care of the ball and shoot well to have a chance in this game. K-State has turned the ball over an average of 26 per game this year, including 34 turnovers against UTEP. The Shocks need to get after it on defense and, hopefully, get their transition game going.
This K-State team is definitely beatable. Question is how badly damaged is the Shock's psyche after choking away the St. Joe game and showing that they apparently have little depth to fall back on.Last edited by 1972Shocker; November 19, 2013, 04:02 PM.

Women win by 23 (69-46) with Michelle leading the way with 25 points 8 rebounds. This is a big win, not just because of thumping a B12 school on their home floor, but in seeing how we responded to blowing a big lead in the St. Joe's game. Very impressive bounce back win tonight by 23-points over KSU on the road matching the men's effort at Tulsa tonight. The main difference is that the Lady Shocks jumped all over KSU from the get go and were never really challenged in a game where KSU, quite frankly, looked to be overmatched.
The smaller, but more athletic Shocks outrebounded KSU 40-25 to correct a big problem in the loss to St. Jo's. However, the Shocks still need to work on the free throw shooting as they were only 10-19 from the line for 52.6%. The Shocks shot 53.8% from the field.
Michelle led the way with a career high 25 points plus 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Alex chipped in 15 points (13 in the second half), 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Alie had a solid shooting game with 10 points and Kelsey grabbed a game high 9 rebounds.
May be a long year for the KSU women.

WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women’s basketball team added Queensvillage, N.Y. native Brittany Martin to its fall signing class, head coach Jody Adams announced today.
Martin, a 6-foot-4 center, played the 2012-13 season at Old Dominion where she participated in eight games before transferring to Northwest Florida State College for the 2013-14 season.
“We are really excited about our commitment from Brittany,” Adams said. “Her length, being 6-foot-4, is something we have never had in this program. There is no doubt she will take care of the paint and guard the rim for us. Her specialty fits well with what our philosophy is here at Wichita State, which is to play great defense and she is a great defensive player that rebounds the ball with passion.”
The addition of Martin brings the Shocker’s signing class to three. Wichita State announced the additions of Aundra Stovall and Ashlee Ivy last week.
