The Shocker play a previously postponed double header against 1/1 Oklahoma tomorrow. The start time has been moved to 4pm (says the OU site).
The Sooners finished second to Alabama in the WCWS series last year, winning the first game of the championship series, but losing the last two.
Oklahoma have a record of 28-2, losing only #20 Nebraska and #11 Louisville. As you would expect, they play a solid schedule, with a record of 15-2 against teams that were at least Receiving Votes. They have run-ruled Drake twice and have two wins over Nebraska in addition to the loss.
They are lead in the circle by Keilani Ricketts, younger sister to our coach Samantha Ricketts. Keilani and Michelle Gascoigne have pitched all but 8.1 of the innings this year. The team ERA is 0.89 with a WHIP of 0.68. Yikes!!!
The team OPS for the Sooners is 1.034!!, led by Lauren Chamberlain (16 HRs and OPS of 1.840) and Ricketts (1.396).
This will probably be characterized as a learning experience - probably a humbling experience, too. But I should point out we competed well against Alabama and, for one game, against Nebraska, so the DH could prove to be interesting.
