Gotta find some offense. There is so much effort trying to force the ball to the rim. Meanwhile, 3 open 10 foot shots have been passed up. If I was defending us I would pack it in all night long.

Shows you what I know. Very little to nothing. The Shocker half-court offense is stagnant and non-productive. Without Jessica Diamond we would struggle to score 25-30 points per game. The formula for success against the Shockers is estalished. Keep them from scoring in transition and make them grind away in the half-court.
Shocks finally get a decent crowd of 2,586 and they laid an egg the size of a basketball. Competing for an MVC title seems to be somewhat of a fairy tale at this point in time.
Very disappointing.

The first half of this game was brutal to watch. I didn't know if the Lady Shox were gonna hit 10 points for awhile, and without Jess they very well might not have. Other than a couple of break away layups and some free throws in the first half our offense was terrible. It was a good thing KSU couldn't knock down a jumper in the first half either. I was surprised the Lady Shox still had a chance to win down the stretch but turnovers killed us. 21 turnovers to 7 assists isn't going to win many games.
I thought Chyna played a decent second half offensively, but she scores, screams running down the court then gets beat to the basket by the other teams guards. I thought Alex looked a little lost again. Michelle did a great job on the boards but neither she nor Jazimen Gordon could buy a lay-up.
A lot of standing around on offense, waiting for someone to go one on one. Thought our out of bounds sets where slow developing as well. I'm sure someone will say holding the Cats below 50 is a good thing, but some of that had to do with them shooting poorly as well. Chantay Caron missed a bunch of shots from 5 in that could have blown the game open. Chambers pushed off like crazy with her off hand several times. The Cats will be in serious trouble in the big 12. Disappointing though a team thought to compete for the Valley, is losing to a bottom 2 team in the Big 12 and was at risk of getting blown out several times.

We've been playing solid defense. I believe Jessie, Chynna and Alex should be consistent double digit scorers. Kelsey played 36 minutes and plays tough D, but will probably only chip in 6-8 as will Jaz, though she could do more. Jody is right, just get the kids in position to score.

Boy, 5 losses by a combined total of 20 points. Shocks may not have to find a lot of offense to be successful.
Last year the Shocks shot 44.3% from the field (on 55.3 attempts per game), 32.9% behind the arc, 71.4% from the line, averaged 12.2 assists per game and 16.7 turnovers per game and 16.8 fouls per game.
In 7 games this year the Shocks are shooting 39.3% from the field (on 50.6 attempts per game), 24.6% behind the arc, 67.1% from the line, with an average of 8.0 assists per game, 17.9 turnovers per game and 18.6 fouls per game.
While the Shocks were not a great offensive team last year, a statistical performance this year equal to last year's performance and this year's team is probably looking at a 7-1 or 8-0 record at this point. It is pretty much a team wide issue. Not any one player. I don't think we are that far away, and I do think we are capable of stepping up our offensive production. It will not be because one or two players step up. We need each of our top 7 players to step up their productivity just moderately.
Jody needs to figure out how to tweak our offensive schemes to give the Ladies the best opportunity to do just that.
I think the next two opponents, Northern Colorado and Arkansas-Pine Bluff, will give the Shocks a chance to rebuild some needed confidence.
