If everyone was truly upset over the pushups, why did everyone wait till 2 days afterwards to express their dissatisfaction? The teammate leaving is a separate issue and is not related to the pushups. This is nothing more than people that really didn't like the program waiting for that smell of first blood.

Not sure that I agree with this.

I know I don't agree with it! First, it was somewhat discussed the day after the game and the Eagle article added to the discussion.

Next, since the player suspended is one of the same players publicly humiliated, you will have to factually show me that they are not related. Otherwise, it smells of something happening very shortly after the halftime situation.

Lastly, you can take your last comment and put it where the sun doesn't shine. The posters in this discussion are NOT who you'd like to make them out to be. I like Jody, a lot. Am I concerned about DE, a lot.

You're absolutely right. I've sat through years and years of Linda Hargrove, Darryl Smith, Jane Albright, terrible teams, a few good years, just waiting for the chance to pounce on Dana now. I spent thousands of dollars supporting a program that inside I dislike just hoping my moment would come. Or maybe I'm just expressing my discontent with the way things have gone recently. Isn't that what message boards are for? If chiefs fans can have a "can Pioli" food drive maybe I'm not thinking big enough. Maybe I can hand out shovels at the front door for a "ditch Dana" campaign. Or trash bags for a "junk Jody" drive. But seems according to Nolen I'm doing just fine destroying our program by commenting on shockernet.

I do not follow the lady shockers closely, but to the casual observer their seems to be a lot of drama.

My wife worked with some of the hold over players from the previous coach. She had some upsetting stories, but I chalked them up to sour grapes. I might have been wrong.... If corrections in style or methods are required I hope the current staff makes them.

i was friends with several hold over players and heard smiliar stories. But we arent allowed to mention that anymore as we are destroying the womens team.

Just watched the Shox men beat Air force. Didn't play well, no drama, just got it done. Shox volleyball off to the Sweet 16. No drama, just got it done. It is not that complicated. Coaches coach; players play. This is getting ugly and it shouldn't. I don't see this as a Jody bashing; it is long standing Shox fans who want their players treated with dignity and respect and for the players to play at the highest level they are capable of playing. I believe this will get uglier and may play out in the press. There is a buzz in the community.

Does Chris Lamb have a brother or sister that coaches basketball?

WSU women's basketball is a sleeping giant. Now the giant appears to be going on life support.

Mike Kennedy mentioned in the men's pre-game show that the Air Force dismissed their head coach last year 21 games into the season because they believed he had zapped the fun from the game.

Perhaps the AFA is not your normal situation but I think that it does show the importance of providing the young people you recruit a positive experience.

Seems to have worked because the Air Force is really playing well these season under career assistant Mike Pilipovich who was promoted when the head man was dismissed.

I'm not necessarily suggesting things are that bad in the WSU women's program. I really don't know. I just don't want them to get that bad. In fact, I want them to be just the opposite of such an environment.

Diggins recruited me for Butler when he and Randy were there. Never had a problem with him but I never actually played for him either.

Playing for Carlos was never the real problem. Playing against him, however, could get you landed in the third row!

I believe that college athletes at this level have pretty thick skins, otherwise they would not have made it this far. Having coaches occasionally in your grill is something they can deal with. Unfortunately, there are coaches that cross the line. When you start seeing a pattern, when there's a history over several seasons with different teams, it's time to pay attention and take corrective action. I hope Eric and Jody address this and we can get back to basketball.

I know you meant Jody not Judy. But, when not regular blogger folks are involved It can get uncomfortable. I just want the girls to play!!! We could have won it with Haleigh; she's gone. It is not that complicated. Read Coach Wooden's memoirs. He gives all credit to his players. I wasn't one of the big time players, but felt like one. Lew was stupid good. L. Allen from Kansas, our neighborhood; WOW. And they stayed in the program. Beat up in practice by Coach; praised in public. I had a chance to play a bit and loved the experience. These women can do the same. The women's game is what I used to play; pure, not dunks, pick and roll, bank off the glass or sit, block out, stop a drive, simple. I'm getting tired.
