Shocks get their 1st win of the year with a 9-point road win at Arkansas State. Can't comment too much on the game as I was at the Shocker men's game tonight.
Always nice to get a road win.
Jesscia lead the way with 20 points and Jaz chipped in 13 plus 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Shocks didn't get much from their bench with only 10 points and 10 rebounds and most of that from Michelle (7 and 5). On top of that, the bench made 9 turnovers.
Jessica, Jaz and Alex all played 37 minutes. Against LSU in the opener Jessica, Jaz and Alex played 36,39 and 38 minutes respectively. That could take a toll later in the season if we have to play these 3 ladies that many minutes.
Shocks missed all 7 of their 3 point attempts. Perimeter shooting continues to be a big weakness. Not sure that is going to materialize with this team.
Shocks had 3 players with 4 fouls and Michell fouled out. Need to reduce those numbers.
Long bus ride to and from Jonesboro. Probably a good 8 hours.
Hopefully, the Shocks will be ready for some home cookin' as they play UTSA in their home opener on Sunday.
