Are you referring to Heather Robben? Heather was not a PG and she transferred to Emporia State after the 2010-11 season and played her final year of eligibility for the Hornets last year.

Breanna Dawkins who played a lot of PG her freshman year also left after the 2010-11 season and transferred to North Texas. She had to sit out last year and will be playing for the Mean Green this year.

Just got word from one of the players, Jody wants:

Alex at the 1 (she's been handling it, can shoot and passing is quite good and she is big)

      Jessie at the 2

      Chynna at the 3

      Kelsey at the 4

      Jaz at the 5

The rest will interchange. I see title and didn't see this coming. But, I like it, especially since many decades ago I was a 1 at 6'5" very popular back in my day, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Pistol Pete, all big guards. That is the trend with the women now.

AT 5'11" Alex would be more or less the equivalent of a 6'3" to 6'5" guard in the men's game.

IIRC, last year LSU had a 5'10" PG and Central Michigan had a highly touted 6'0" freshman playing the point. The tall CMU freshman PG, in particular, presented some big matchup problems for the Shocks.

The team starts individual workouts with coaches Monday, August 20. 120 minutes per week. We'll know more then. I'll be sure to take a stroll through Koch and give my opinion. As I've said earlier, they have much to learn and it will probably take a while to see productive minutes. The coaches typically break the team up into groups and work with them by position, so this will give us another indication of what positions each player is likely to play.

Noticed the board in Koch and the shooting percentage over 380 shots in their individual workouts with coaches as listed. Kelsey at 82%, Chynna at 79% then a big drop off. Kelsey at 39% form 3-point-range. Of course the guards shoot more 3's so their percentage will be lower. The percentage is all shots in the paint, mid-range and 3's at game speed no defense. Jessie is way down, but they have her shooting mostly three's. I'll keep you posted. Kelsey's ankle is bothering her a bit, but they are watching it closely so she can be ready for real hoops. Jaz has sore knees and they are letting her rest. This wouldn't have happened last year or prior years, it was always "tough it out" to the point of injury.
