KWCH - Wichita State assistant tennis coach arrested for child sex crimes
An assistant tennis coach at Wichita State was arrested and booked on multiple charges of sex crimes against a child.
Sedgwick County Jail booking reports show Max Wheeler of Wichita was booked for two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, criminal sodomy with a child and electronic solicitation. All the charges are for acts with a child between 14 and 16.
Wheeler’s bio on the Wichita State athletics website has been removed, as have other mentions of him on the site. Wichita State has not commented on the arrest, but we are working to confirm his employment status.
