Not sure how I feel about this one. He's spent the last six or so years coaching HS.

I have heard that Kelli Bagley is not heading back to El Paso with Keitha Adams. I would say that is from a fairly good source but not necessarily ironclad.

She was on Keitha's staff at UTEP her final two years of her previous stint and then came to WSU for Keitha's 6 year tenure here. Her husband, Marcus Bagley, is a former UTEP football standout and is a teacher and the head football coach at Southeast High School.

I don't know if Kelli is a possible candidate for Nooner's staff. Not sure how attractive having a member of the previous staff continue as part of his staff would be to Coach Nooner.

Yeah, not much of a resume but if he is coming is as the 3rd assistant it is not that unusual for that position to be filled by someone just starting their college coaching careers. We'll have to see where he fits in.

I guess gone are the days when a Coach can control when and how his staff is announced.

Official intro will be Thursday at 330 inside The Chuck. Much like was done for Mills it's open to the public and will stream on ESPN+.

Reminder. It's less than 90 minutes from now.

Wonder if we'll hear anything about assistants officially.

Nooner seems to have a lot of Midwest experience/connections. If Bradford is an assistant, based on his coaching experience he probably has limited reach/networking in the bag. I couple of early years as an assistant at Labbette County and Missouri Southern State followed by years of HS coaching in SWMO and KCK. Can't imagine he developed many connections outside of KS, MO and AR.

If he only has two assistants spots left, I hope he can bring someone in with a little more well established experience in coaching. Perhaps someone with some deeper Texas connections would be beneficial.

Though I still wouldn't mind Scales being added, I kind of wonder if having another guy with limited/JC experience would be a positive paired with Bradford. Maybe he creates a young and hungry staff, but I am hoping at least one of the assistants is a little more seasoned in the college game.

And I don't expect assistant coach news, but it's the next step in moving forward.

Does one of the assistants need to be a woman? Not trying to be PC about it, but one would think there could be situations where having a female on the staff would be beneficial to the program.

Nooner says this is a dream job. I'm not buying that but nice line.

He just got choked up while thanking his wife for everything she's done. He choked up twice. I respect that. I could only hope to one day find someone who would have that impact on me.

Just got choked up talking about his step-dad. Respect.

Said the infamous "players coach" line.

Talks about accountability. Playing fast and hard.

                  He's an overachiever.

                  He's ambitious.

                  High character, high academic players.

I hope he can achieve these things.

Talked about the importance of being open and honest with players. Even if it's not what they want to hear. He believes if you're always open and honest that they'll respect you and what you have to say when it's not just sunshine and rainbows.

                    PC over.

I enjoy it when something means a lot and clearly this moment, this job, this opportunity means a lot to Coach Nooner.

Go get 'em Coach and good luck!

I thought it was pretty clear that Coach also made a big impact on Kevin, which I like. Kevin has hit the ground sprinting and he's had a plan. If Terry does the same then our program is in very good hands.

Any reports on what players were in attendance?

Terry mentioned that he is an over-achiever. And he certainly comes cross as an underdog who has over-achieved. He isn't going to Wow anyone with his physical presence or his soaring oratory. However, based on the comments from those who know him regarding his ability to build relationships he apparently has an ability that has to come through in more than just superficial ways.

I liked that he told the players that they aren't someone else's players and someone else's team. They are his players and his team now. I liked that he is taking that ownership.

I think a team that plays fast and plays hard will be attractive to recruits and to the fans if the execution is good. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen. Not sure he has the current talent in place to do that but we will see. That may take a few years to get fully in to place.

Next step, as with Coach Mills, let's see who will be on his staff and let's see what kind of a roster can they put together with this late start.

I was not in attendance. Watched on ESPN+. Really only saw the team from the back and from a distance. But they all seemed to be wearing identical team apparel. There are 10 players currently listed on the roster and that includes Jane Asinde. I think there were at least 8 players and maybe 9 which is pretty much all of them.
