The Shocks play a DH at UMKC this Wednesday before their weekend series at Drake.
The Roos are in sixth place in the nine-team Summit League. Among common opponents, they have defeated Evansville, Missouri State and Saint Louis and lost two of three to North Dakota State who lead the Summit. In conference-only games, UMKC has an OPS of .614 with an opponents' OPS of .734. The corresponding numbers for the Shockers are .648 and .869. They have four hitters with an OPS higher than .700; we have three. Their team ERA is 2.45 while the Shocks ERA is 4.83.
The Roos have an RPI of 156 with the Shocks RPI at 193. The RPIs in the Summit League range from 77 to 271 while they range from 62 to 245 in the Valley.
While these game are obviously not must-wins, the Shocks need to play well (they did not this past weekend IMO) to get some confidence going to Des Moines.
