Shocks lead 1-0 after 5 in the finale. Katie has pitched the first 5 innings allowing 5 singles and walking 2 but stranding all 7 baserunners.

Shocks load the bases with one-out in the top of the 6th but where unable to score. Hope that doesn't come back to bite them.

Sloan is on in relief of Katie in the bottom of the 6th.

At this point, I guess the last time would be this weekend as the Shocks hang on to take their second 1-0 win of the series.

Sloan went got the first 5 batter she faced but gave up a 2-out single in the 7th but she got the next batter, a pinch hitter on a popped to and left Evansville's best hitter Kayla Fortner stranded in the on-deck circle.

Perhaps this weekend was mostly a matter of a lower-level of competition but the Ladies certainly could not have come in with a high level of confidence and to battle for two 1-0 wins as part of the sweep was impressive. Katie and Sloan deserve a big congrats for their work this weekend.

        Very well done.

And on the road to boot.

Actually, we swept Creighton on the road last year. 3-2. 6-5 and 14-1. Interestingly, it was on April 16th and 17th. Seems to be the Shockers weekend. Maybe we have a bunch of future CPA's on the team.

Previously, we swept Bradly at home in 2010 and swept Bradley on the road in 2007.

In any case, should be a very fun bus ride home for the Ladies. Hope they enjoy it.

The Evansville game writeup. The LiveStats are already gone at this writing, but the game report states that the Shocks scored in the fifth on a Brianne leadoff double, sac bunt and sac fly by Danika.

From the Shocker game writeup: "The highlight of the play was Eckert's diving headfirst slide around the left leg of the catcher that narrowly beat a good throw from the center fielder." Holly was pinchrunning for Brianne.
