No question she is about as good as they come.

      Game Four

      Shockers at Charlotte

Right now, there is no internal connection to Sidearm.

Yes, but I expected to see the old form, not some dump of internal values from the Sidearm app. Early Friday, the Sidearm from the Clemson-Charlotte game on Wednesday was still up. It's 5 pm CT now; I will see if the problem has gone away.

          BACK: It's cleaned up now.

Lineup: Same as earlier game with Caitlin in the circle.

Wright is in the circle for the Niners.

In the Shocker first, Sydney singles but is forced out by Addison. With two outs, she steals second and is brought home on a double by Zoe. Lolo follows with a two-run homer.

For the Niners, Vannoy (yep, her again) leads off their first with a homer. 3-1 Shockers after one.

Krystin homers to lead off the second, the first home run of her Shocker career.

I feel better about Caitlyn when she is getting a lot of ground balls. A home run and 2 fly ball outs to left plus a strike out in the 1st inning.

3 ground ball outs in a 1-2-3 bottom of 3rd. That's what I like to see with Caitlyn.

[Supper break] Sydney and Addison add singles in the Shocker second, but the Shocks do not score again. 4-1 after two.

A walk in third for the Shocks and three groundouts for the Niners. Ask and ye shall receive. 4-1 after three.

A single by Lainee, walk to Lauren, and single by Sydney load the bases with no outs in the fourth. Walljasper is on to pitch for Charlotte.

Hello Lindsey and Good Bye softball. A grand slam for Addison! And on an 0-2 pitch! 8-1 and still batting. Walljasper gets the three outs she needed, just not soon enough. On to the bottom of the fourth with the Shocks leading 8-1.

I would point out Addison's masharoni treat came on an 0-2 count.

In the Niner fourth, the first two batters groundout. Sorry, 1972Shocker, the streak then ended. Caitlin struckout the next batter. 8-1 after four.

1-2-3 Shocker fifth. 1-2-3 Niner fourth. The only hit given up by Caitlin is the leadoff home run in the first. 8-1.

1-2-3 Shocker sixth. Nine in a row for Walljasper. Charlotte gets an infield single to open their sixth. A groundout advances the runner, and another single scores her. A third single in the inning and trouble is brewing, although all of the singles appear to be ground balls. Fly out, forceout and the sixth is over. 8-2.

Neleigh singles and Zoe doubles to start the seventh for the Shocks. Lolo singles them home but is thrown out after rounding first too far. 10-2.

A single starts the Niner seventh, but they do not score.

                      Shockers 10-2 Charlotte

Caitlin gave up five hits and walked one with three strikeouts. A very nice outing after some bad ones.

Thirteen hits for the Shocks with Sydney leading the way with three. Addison, Lolo, Zoe, and Krystin all had two hits. Addison, Lolo, and Krystin had homers, and Addison and Lolo both had four RBI.

Have to like the pitching performances in todays' games. Kudos to Alison and Caitlyn.

Doesn’t look likely they’ll get to play Minnesota tomorrow. Rain forecasted until mid to late afternoon.

Since I am curious about this, I will steal this post. Did the team fly to Atlanta and bus to Charlotte? Or fly on to Charlotte from Atlanta?

Officially rained out today. Still a really good weekend for the Shocks. I’m not sure they will receive more votes in the polls next week, but they probably should. All of these teams could be in the NCAA tournament.

I, too, wish they had had another chance to notch a win over Minnesota. In the NFCA Poll of last Tuesday, the votes for the teams were Shockers (15), Minnesota (14), and Charlotte (2). Illinois had 5 votes. All are ranked RV, of course. On Tuesday, we can see any movement.
