Lady Shocks vs Indiana State - MVC BB Quarterfinals

The #3 seed Lady Shocks take on the #6 seed Indiana State Sycamores tonight at 8:30.

This will not be an easy game for the Shocks. The Shocks have been up and down over their last 11 games winning 5 and losing 6 including a 12 point loss on the road to the Sycamores a couple of weeks ago.

Indiana State is not real deep but they have a very solid starting five with 6'4" Sr Shannon Thomas, 6'0" Sr Deja Mattox, 5'6" Sr Brittany Schoen, 5'10" So Anna Munn and 5'9" Jr Taylor Whitley.

Indiana State is on a 3-game winning streak, all by double digits including their 12 point home win over the Shocks and road wins over MVC cellar dwellars SIU and Evansville.

The Lady Shocks have never won the MVC Tournament and have reached the championship game only once. We have a realistic chance to win the tournament this year, but we could also very easily be one and done.

Bradley led, 45-37, at the 8:20 mark of the second half, but the Bears rallied, taking their first lead on two Karly Buer FTs with a minute to play. She then sank two more in the closing seconds, and the Bears escape a Bradley team that was playing well of late.

From the box score looks like kind of an ugly game. Both teams 18-54 (33.3%) from the field and both below 20% on three points shots. Both teams shot an OK but not great 70% from the line. They also combined for 39 turnovers.
