Aliphine Watch Party

Wichita State track & field will host a public watch party from 6-10 p.m. Friday, March 9 in the track & field team room (entrance located at the northwest corner of Cessna Stadium). Light refreshments will be served.

Might be fun. Looks like Aliphine has a very legitimate shot at a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP in the 5K. Those don't come along every day as we well know.

FYI, Aliphine will run around 9:00pm for the 5k. Thanks for the info, I wouldn't want to miss a SHOCKER winning a NCAA Championship! Hope lots of people swing by Cessna Stadium!

Iowa State's Betsy Saina ran a great race this evening to win the Women's NCAA 5k race. Aliphine gave it a good shot but could just not keep up with Saina and Maier over the last few laps but was able to hold on for a 3rd place finish.

Congratulations to Aliphine for an outstanding effort and top 3 finish. Good luck in the 3k tomorrow.

Aliphine ran another very good race to finish 7th in the 3000 meters Saturday night. This is a "short" race for her so not too shabby. What a weekend! 3rd in the 5k Friday and 7th in the 3k Saturday. Probably the best NCAA meet for a WSU woman ever .... AND her best event is the 10k outdoor! With her points, WSU finishes 28th in the NCAA meet.

Way to go Aliphine!
