The Shocks open up AAC play hosting Houston tonight at 6:00 pm.

The Shocks finished non-con play at 9-4 although there schedule was pretty suspect with a handful of exceptions and had a SOS rank 228. The Shockers are 0-3 vs Quadrant 1 opponents 2-1 vs quadrant 2 opponents and 7-0 vs Quadrant 4 opponents. Houston finished it non-con season at 7-5 against a decent schedule with an SOS rank of 19.

The Cougars were picked to finish 3rd in the AAC just ahead of Tulane and Temple. The Cougars have not played a game since December 21st as they had a non-con game vs SE Louisiana cancelled and their AAC opener with Tulane postponed due to Covid protocols in their program.

The Shockers were picked to finish 8th in the AAC but I think they can do better than that. This game tonight will be a good indicator if that will happen.

I expect the Shocks, at the very least, to be competitive and I think they have a reasonable chance to win this game. I think these two teams will match up pretty well against each other.

The Shockers defense and rebounding has been good and they have been a good free throw shooting team. Their FG shooting tends to come and go and their 3-point shooting has not been very good so far this year.

Houston down 4 players (3 starters) who average a combine 20 points per game.. The Shockers are down 3 players - Trajata Colbert, Shamaryah Duncan and Nug Bosch-Duran. Both teams have 11 players suited up. That would seem to favor the Shocks.

Quarter 1

The Shocks jumped out to a 15-7 lead but Houston closed with a 9-0 run to take a 16-15 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Asia Strong picked up her 2nd foul at the end of the quarter and is probably done for the half.

Quarter 2

Shocks edge ahead 32-31 at the half capped by a long 3-pointer by Mariah McCulley. Mariah with a very good first half with 11 points on 4-7 from the filed including 3-3 on 3-pointers.

Shocks shooting very well at 13-29 (44.8) from the field, 3-6 (50%) on 3-pointers and 3-3 from the free throw line. Houston is shooting 33.3% from the field (13-39) and from the 3-point line (4-12). Shocks are also outrebounding Houston 24-18.

With those stats it's a little disappointing that the Shocks on lead by 1 at the half. The Shocks did turn the ball over 10 times to only 4 for Houston and Houston had 2 more offensive rebounds. Houston has a 12-2 advantage in points of turnovers and 11-5 in 2nd chance points.

Great opportunity for the Shocks in this game. I think they are the better team based on the players each team has available to them in this game. Shocks need to cut down on the turnovers in the 2nd half.

Asia was scoreless but only played 8 minutes in the first half after picking up her 2nd foul late in the 1st quarter.

Quarter 3

Houston has another player go down with a turned ankle early in the quarter. Not sure if they will be able to come back or not.

Tied at 39-all at a mid-quarter timeout.

Shocks edge ahead 47-46 at the end of the 3rd quarter behind Mariah McCulley and Jane Asinde.

I keep thinking the Shocks are going to pull away but Houston managing to hang in there. Thought Houston might be betting a little tired towards the end of the 3rd quarter.

Quarter 4

Shocks edge ahead 52-48. Mariah, who is having a great game, surprisingly blew a wide open layup that would have put the Shocks up by 6. Houston came down and hit a baseline jumper to make it 52-50 with 7 minutes to play.

Houston now on a 10-0 run to take a 58-52 lead with 3 minutes to play as HCKA calls a timeout. Houston made it a 13-0 run to take a 61-52 lead

Seraphine Bastin goes down with leg cramps with 2:30 left in the game.

Houston hit a trey to make it a 13-0 run to take a 61-52 lead with 2.

Houston extends the lead to 61-54 with 1:54 left. A steal and layup by McCulley makes it 61-56.

Houston finishes with a strong quarter to pull out a short-handed 66-61 road win. Shocks had a cold spell during Houston's big 4th quarter run missing 10 consecutive shots.

Mariah McCully lead the Shocks with 23 points on 9-18 from the field including 5-6 on 3-pointers. Jane Asinde had 16 points and 16 rebounds. Seraphine Bastin only had 4 points but grabbed 13 rebounds from her point guard position and handed out 5 assists. Ella Anciaux probably had her game as a Shocker with 8 points on 4-7 shooting in 16 minutes. Asia Strong only managed 1 point, 2 rebounds and 2 turnovers in 17 minutes of play.

The Shocks had 18 turnovers (6 by Seraphine and 6 by Jane) to only 9 for Houston. Houston also had 9 blocks to 5 for the Shocks.

A little disappointed in this one. Thought the Shocks missed a big opportunity to steal a win from a team picked well ahead of them in the standings. The Shocks would not have even been in this game without Mariah but her missing the wide open layup that would have put the Shocks up 6 with 7 minutes to play may been a turning point. That is when Houston went on their 13-0 run.

Wichita State-South Florida Game Postponed

Wichita State's game at No. 24 South Florida originally scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 9 has been postponed due to health and safety protocols within the Wichita State program.

The conference has granted the two programs the discretion to reschedule the game. Wichita State will make information available concerning a new date and time for the contest as soon as it is available.

Wichita State is scheduled to travel to Cincinnati to face the Bearcats on Thursday, Jan. 13.

Shockers on the road in Cincinnati this evening for 6:00 game with the Bearcats. The Bearcats are defanged somewhat form last year as AAC Player of the Year Ilmar'i Thomas and her 23.7 PPG scoring average has departed to play her final year at UCLA.

Cincinnati was picked to finish 6th and the Shockers 8th in the preseason AAC coaches' poll.

Shockers pretty much have all hands on deck except Shamaryah Duncan who made the trip but will not dress.

Cincinnati is 7-7 on the season and 0-2 in AAC play. Definitely a winnable game for the Shocks.

Quarter 1

Cincinnati comes out hot hitting their first 5 shots, including 2 treys, to jump out to a 12-4 lead 2 minutes into the game. Perhaps more damaging for the Shocks is that Mariah McCully went down after a drive from the top of the key to basket grabbing her left knee and in a lot of pain. Had to be carried off the court and in to the locker room. That would be a huge loss for the Shocks.

Shocks pull to with 20-16 when a football game breaks out and Asia is bowled over and slammed to the floor and Seraphine gets tangled up in a scrum. Asia is a little wobbly and Seraphine is limping off. Somehow no fouls called.

Shocks pull to within 1 at 22-21 at the end of quarter. They should feel very good about that as Cincinnati shot the ball very well hitting 8-14 shot including 4-6 treys and 2-2 from the line. Plus the Shocks lost Mariah 2 minutes into the game and Asia and Seraphine went to the bench with a couple minutes left in the quarter.

Quarter 2

Seraphine is back in the game to open the 2nd quarter. Shocks pull ahead 30-24 with about 6:30 to play in the quarter. Asia re-enters the game for Trajata. Trajata played well. Shocks go up 32-24 at the media timeout. Surprisingly, Mariah is back on the floor coming out of the timeout.

Shockers take a 40-30 lead into the locker room at the half. Not shooting great at 34% from the field and 0-7 on threes but they have taken 44 shots to 28 for Cincy. That's due to outrebounding the Bearcats 29-17 including 13-1 on the offensive glass and have a 9-0 advantage on 2nd chance points. In addition, the Shocks have only turned the ball over 2 times vs 8 for Cincy and have a 8-0 advantage on points off turnovers. Also the Shocks are 10-12 from the free throw line to 4-6 for the Bearcats.

Quarter 3

Shocks maintaining their lead at 49-39 at the media timeout. The Shocks offense bogging down a little bit in the half court and they have 3 turnovers. Still dominating the boards.

Shocks hanging on 55-47 at the end of the quarter but did not play all that well this quarter and finished poorly Cincy finished the quarter on a 6-0 run. Nugh Bosch-Duran with a couple of bad fouls at the end of the quarter.

Quarter 4

Cincy gets the 1st score of the final quarter to pull to 55-49 and now we have a ball game. Shocks hanging on at 63-55 at the media timeout with 4:31 to play. Both teams grinding on the offensive end. Cincy not out of this by any means.

Lead down to 2 at 63-61 with 3:00 minutes to play. Cincy starting to hit the offensive boards. The Bearcats have the momentum. Shocks need someone, anyone to step up. After a timeout DJ McCarty knocks down a rainbow three, the Shock first 2 pointer of the game. After a Cincy miss DJ drives the lenth of the court and hits runner and the Shocks are back up 68-61. After the teams exchange turnovers Cincy hits three to make it 68-64. DJ with a bad lob pass but she manages to tip the ball over to Jane in the ensuing scramble for a layup. Mariah gets a steal and drives the length of the court but misses her drive to the basket, however, DJ reads it well gets the rebound and banks in an off-balance 4 footer and the Shocks leads expands to 72-64.

Shocks finish it off 76-66. Nice win over a decent Cincinnati team. They have some nice looking young players. Good athleticism and good length. I would rate this as the Shocks best win of the year.

The Shocks had 4 players in double figures. Jane Asinde had 17, Seraphine Bastin with 14, DJ McCarty 13 and Asia Strong 12, The Shocks ended up shooting 37%, the same as Cincy. However, Cincy hit 8-25 three pointers while the Shockers hit only 1-16. The Shocks made up for that by hitting 21-27 free throws to 10-14 for Cincy. Shocks won the rebounding battle 50-39 (20-12 on the offensive glass). The Shocks turned it over 13 times (okay for the game, but too many, 11, in the 2nd half) to 18 for Cincy.

I have to go with DJ McCarty as the player of the game. The were really grinding on offense and needed some to step up. That was DJ and she did it in a big way. DJ scored her 13 points on 6-14 from the field (1-3 on 3-pointers), 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 turnovers, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots.

Jane Asinde was very efficient scoring her 17 points on 6-8 from the field and 5-6 from the line plus she had 4 steals.

Seraphine only made 2 of 8 shots but she was 10-11 from the free throw line. She grabbed her usual 7 rebounds but she also had 6 turnovers. That's too many from the point guard position.

Asia just missed a double-double with 12 points, although she that took 17 shots, and 9 rebounds.

Trajata Colbert grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked 3 shots.

Mariah could just never get it going after return from whatever she did to her knee. I think she may have hyperextended it a little. Glad she was able to come back.

The Lady Shocks took on Memphis today at Koch Arena., The Shockers, coming off a nice road win at Cincinnati, were hoping to go 2-1 in AAC play. Memphis was picked to finish last in the AAC.

Both the Lady Shocks and the Lady Tigers lean on defense and rebounding. That showed in this game. Memphis has a lot of size and length that comes into play defensively but not so much on the offensive end of the court. It was not a pretty game with Memphis holding on for a 50-49 win to drop the Shocks to 1-2 in AAC play.

The Shocks 1st and only lead of the game came at 4-2. After that the Shocks tied it at 15-all and after that Memphis maintained varying leads up to 8 points. Memphis lead by 8 at 46-38 with about 5:30 left in the game when the Shocks made there final push outscoring Memphis 11-4 (with DJ McCarty scoring 6 points) the rest of the way but ran out of time 1 point short.

Memphis outshot the Shocks from the field at 37% to 30% including 33% (5-15) vs 25% (5-20) on treys for the Shocks. Memphis outrebounded the Shocks, which hasn't happened a lot this year, 48-35 including 17-14 on the offensive glass. The Shocks largely offset that by forcing Memphis into 25 turnovers while committing only 14 turnovers themselves.

The Shocks needed perimeter shooting in this game to help overcome Memphis size inside and they could not get it done. OTOH, the Shocks missed quite a few layups as well. As did Houston.

The only noteworthy individual stat for the Shocks was Jane Asinde with 10 rebounds.

This home loss pretty much offsets the road win over Cincinnati.

Asinde Collects Third American Weekly Honor

Wichita State junior forward Jane Asinde was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the third time this season, it was announced Monday afternoon.

Asinde averaged 13.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals and shot 45.5 percent from the field in two games last week. The Kampala, Uganda, native scored a team-high 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting and also registered six rebounds and a career-high four steals in a win at Cincinnati. She finished the week with a 9-point, 10-rebound, 3-steal and 2-block performance vs. Memphis.

Her three weekly honors lead all Shockers, followed by Asia Strong with two and Mariah McCully with one.

The Shockers are at Tulane this afternoon and HCKA has shaken up her starting lineup. Serpaphine Bastin is out due to an ankle injury, but Asia Strong and Carla Bremaud are also on the bench to start the game. Mariah McCully, DJ McCarty and Shamaryah Duncan are starting at the guard positions and Jane Asinde and Trajata Colbert are at the forward positions.

Quarter 1

The lineup change seeme to give the Shocks a boost as they jumped out to a 15-4 lead primarily behind the inside work of Trajata and Jane. Tulane made a bit of a comback inn the final 3 minutes of the quarter to close the gap to 18-10 at the end of the quarter. Carla and Asia did enter the game about midway throught the quarter.

Quarter 2

As good as the Shockers were in the 1st quarter they were bad in the 2nd quarter. Tulane cranked up the defensive pressure including a full court press and the Shocks did not handle it well After only 3 turnovers in the 1st quarter the Shokcs turned it over 9 times in the 2nd quarter. DJ McCarty has played well and hit a three pointer at the buzzer to put the Shocks up by 1 at 29-28 at the half. Trajata has played pretty also. Asia did not respond well at all to be benched and played very poorly. Shocks only shooting 35% from the field vs 43% for Tulane.

Quarter 3

The Shocks poor play and Tulane's good play continuted in the 3rd quarter. The Shocks got the turnovers to 5 in the quarter (still too many) but continued to shoot poorly hitting only 4-14 shots for 28.6% while Tulane made 9-54 shots for 60% in the quarter as the Shocks could not stay in front of them. Tulane wins the quarter 28-13 to take a 56-42 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Quarter 4

With the Shocks still down by 14 at 64-50 with 4:20 of the final quarter DJ McCarty found herself at the bottom of a scrum on a rebound play andDJ had to be helped off the floor with an ankle injury. Not much happened after that as both teams played mostly reserves with Tulane winning by a final score of 67-50.

The Shocks offense continutes to struggle with back-to-back losses in which they score 49 and 52 points. The absence of Seraphine no doubt hurt the Shocks. But when your 2 leading scorers, Asia (who may have been slowed by a sore ankle, although it wasn't noticeable) and Mariah, only manage a combined 3 points on 1-14 shooting, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 6 turnovers in 48 minutes of play you're in trouble.

DJ led the Shokcers with 14 points on 6-14 shooting, 5 rebound, 2 steals and no turnovers. Jane just missed a double-bouble with 10 points on 2-5 from the field and 6-7 from the free throw line and grabbed 9 rebounds but she did have 4 turnovers.

Overall the Shocks shot 34.5% from the field to 41.0% for Tulane. Neither team shot the 3-ball well. The Shocker were 11-12 from the line vs 13-21 for Tulane. The Shokcs had 22 turnovers vs 16 for Tulane and Tulane outrebounded the Shockers 41-33.

The Shocks definitely look like an 8th place team or worse these last two games. They need to figure out how to get some points on the board.

The Shock are now 10-7 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

Asinde, McCully Power Wichita State Past ECU, 70-55

Solid home win for the Shocks. Nice to see them put up 70 points. They can win some games if they can consistently do that. Jane Asinde, Maria McCulley and Asia Strong combined for 55 points on a combined 22-36 (61.1%) from the field plus a combined 20 rebounds. Asia did have 6 of the Shockers 19 turnovers. Mariah was 3-6 on 3-pointers while the rest of the team was 1-9.

After trailing 29-28 at half the Shocks went on a 16-2 run to start the 3rd quarter. After leading 46-35 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter the Shocks finished off with a 24 point 4th quarter.

Seraphine Bastin continues to be sidelined.

The Shocks hosted league leading UCF today. UCF is only averaging 59 points per game but they are only allowing 50 points a game so they clearly hang their hats on their defense. Unfortunately, the Shocks will be without their top 2 point guards, Serahine Bastin and DJ McCarty today. The Shocks started an inexperienced freshman Nug Bosch-Duran at the point.

The game went pretty much according to expectations I suppose with UCF cruising to a 68-50 win after leading 58-34 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Shamaryah Duncan came off the bench to lead the Shockers with 12 points, a career high I think, on 4-6 from the field including 4-5 on 3-pointers. Carla Bremaud chipped in 9 points on 3-5 from the field including 3-4 three pointers. Unfortunately, the rest of the team only made 9-44 (20.5%) from the field incuding 1-10 on 3-pointers The Shocks, normally a good free throw shooting team only made 10-19 today. The Shocks were outreounded 46-32. Points in the paint were 38-14 in favor of UCF.

The Shocks 3 leading scorers, Mariah McCully, Jane Asinde and Asia Strong only scored a combined 15 points on 5-26 from the field and 5-9 from the free throw line. The Shockers 4th leading scoring DJ Mcarty did not play today.

USF is long, athletice and experienced and they are very good defensively in their 3-2 matchup zone.

Seraphine missed her 3rd consecutive game with an ankle injury. According to Steve Strain DJ sustained a fractured ank at practice on Thursday. She was on crutches with her left leg in a boot and will be out indefinitely.

On her radio show on Monday HCKA said DJ's ankle was not fractured but it appeared to be a very severe sprain and it's possible she will be out for the rest of the season. Seraphine, who has missed the last 3 games, actually played on her ankle after spraining it in the Memphis game. Wonder if that might have been a mistake. They do expect her back. Probably not against Temple on Wednesday but maybe on Sunday at home vs Tulsa.

This should provide an opportunity to one of reserves to step up. Nug will get more minutes as will Sharmaryah, who had a career best game, in the loss to ECU.

... the loss to UCF. They had the two highest minute totals in that game - 29 and 28, respectively. Nhug does a reasonable job of running the team, but she does not appear to be the offensive threat that Seraphine can be. If Sharmaryah can knock down even high-30s% of her threes (currently only 31% for the season), that will be a vast improvement over anyone else. DJ at 32.4% is the best at this point.

Shocks very short-handed at Temple tonight. DJ out indefinitely. Seraphine still out with her ankle. Mariah not in the lineup tonight. Steve Strain mentioned Mariah has a throat illness. Sounds to me like Omicron.. But that is the Shocker top 3 guards.

The Shockers hung in there in the 1st quarter trailing by only 1 at 17-18. However, the wheels came off in the 2nd quarter as Temple ourscored them 17-6 to take a 35-23 lead at the half.

Interestingly, only 3 players scored for the Shocks in the 1st half. Jane had 13 while Shamaryah and Nug each added 5. Upperlassmen, Asia, Carla and Trajata did not score. Asia picked up 2 early fouls and only played 4 minutes in the 1st half.

The Shocks played Temple close in the 3rd quarter 14-15 but Temple pulled away with a 20-12 final quarter to put the Shocks away 70-49.

Jane led the way with 13 points, but took 18 shots to get there, and 10 rebounds. Nug added 12 points (3 on a banked in 3 pointer) on 4-9 shooting and Shamaryah had 11 points on 4-10 shooting. The Shocks turned it over 19 times to 15 for Temple and were outrebounded 51-38.

Missing 30 points and 12 years of experience was just too much to overcome.

Quarter 1

The two teams are a combined 2-16 in the first 5 minutes of play.

Tulsa leads 11-6 after a rather forgettable quarter for both teams. Tusa 4-19 from the field and the Shockers 3-12. Tulsa outrebounding the Shockers 14-11 and the Shockers have 6 turnovers to 3 for Tulsa.

Tulsa extended its lead to 13-6 at which point the Shocks went on a 13-0 run take a 19-13 lead and extended that to 8 points at 30-22 at the end of the half. The Shocks were 8-8 from the line in the quarter. Tulsa appears to be a live by the three die by the three team and the Shocker defense have them totally out of sync.

Tulsa is 8-36 from the field and 1-19 on 3-pointers. Good game planning by HCKA. Tulsa came into the game shooting 39.6% from 3 and averaging 72.4 ppg.

Quarter 3

Tulsa made some adjustments on how they are attacking the Shockers 1-3-1 zone and have found the range from distance hitting 5-8 run to open the quarter on a 18-4 run.to take a 40-34 lead.

All even at the end of 3 quarters at 45-all. Tulsa did hit 6-12 treys in the quarter gut the Shock made a good comeback after the early onslaught by Tulsa.

Pretty clear Tulsa will live or die by the 3. I like the Shocker chances of pulling this one out.

Quarter 4

Tulsa leads 53-52 at the under 5 minute media tiimeout. This looks to be going down to the wire.

Tulsa hit a tough, driving left-handed layup with1:20 to go up 61-56. Seraphine hit 2 free throws to pull within 61-58 but the Shocks could not score again and Tulsa hit 4-4 from the line to put the game away with 65-58 win.

After only making 1-19 treys in the 1st half but hit 9-20 treys in the 2nd half.

Tulsa finished at 10-39 for 26% on treys, far below their 40% coming into the game. The Shocks only managed 4-19 for 21% on treys. The Shocks did come back to outrebound Tulsa 44-40 but had 14 turnovers to 9 for Tulsa.

Asia Strong with 15, Trajata Colbert with 14, and Seraphine Bastin with 12 led the Shockers shooting a combined 15-21 (71.4%) from the field. Unfortunately, the rest of the Shocks could only find the range on 5-35 (14.3%) shots including 3-17 (17.6%) from 3.

The Shocks fall to 2-6 in AAC play including 1-4 at home with 4 of the next 5 games on the road (if played). The Shocks are in 10th place and play at last place ECU on Wednesday. That should be a winnable game. The Shocks have lost 5 of their last 6 with their only win over ECU 70-55 at home.

The Lady Shocks (2-6 in AAC play) are at last place ECU (1-8) in AAC play this evening. The Shocks beat ECU in Wichita a couple of weeks ago 70-55.

Quarter 1

Asia, Jane, Carla, Mariah and Nug starting for the Shocks. Bastion will come of the bench again.

Very slow start for the Shocks as they trailed 5-13 with 2:30 remaining in the quarter. The did, however, close the gap to 10-13 at the end of the quarter.

Quarter 2

The Shocks opened the quarter on a 7-0 run and closed the quarter on an 8-0 run as the pulled away to a 34-21 halftime lead. The Shocks were 4-5 form threes in the quarter. 1 by Carla, 1 by Mariah and 2 by Nug including a 3 from the left wing to close out the half.

Quarter 3

A really ugly start to the quarter by both teams. 4:15 into the quarter and ECU has outscored the Shocks 3-2.

Rough quarter for the Shocks. The only manage to hit 2-18 shots and their 13-point half-time lead shrinks to 4 points at 42-38.

Quarter 4

ECU takes their 1st lead since early in the 2nd quarter at 43-42 with 8:20 to play. The teams went back and forth after that. ECU hit 1 of 2 free throws with 30 seconds left tie it at 51-all. On the ensuing possession Nug hit a 3-pointer with 8 seconds left. Looks like the Shocks plan was to file the ECU player who received the inbounds pass but the ECU player caught the ball and immediately went up for a 3-point attempt. She was fouled by Nug (and probably Jane as well). The ECU player hit all 3-free throws to tie at 54-all. The Shocks had one final possession with 6 seconds left. The Shocks tried their play where the run a post from the left elbow around a screen to the right side at the bottom of the lane and make a lob from the side court. Looks like ECU had that scouted and knocked the ball out of bounds with 3 seconds left. The Shocks inbounding from the baseline got the ball into Seraphine breaking down the left side of the lane but her left hook shot was blocked but went right to Carla who left an open 10 footer just short. Overtime coming up.

Overtime

In the first 3 minutes of OT ECU hit 5-6 free throws and the Shocks went scoreless as ECU took a 59-54 lead. 2 free throw from Seraphine and a 3-pointer from Mariah with 52 seconds left pulled the Shocks even at 59-all. On the ensuing possession ECU missed an open 17 foot jumper from the key but grabbed the offensive rebound and scored to make it 61-59 with 24 seconds remaining. On the Shockers final possession Seraphine went one-on-one and had a pretty good look on lefty layup but left it short. The ball went off ECU with 3.3 seconds to play. The Shocks did get the ball into Seraphine on the right baseline just outside the lane but she was up against ECU's post player and her shot attempt was blocked as time expired, Shocks lose 61-59.

Pretty physical game by both teams and both teams played pretty tough defensively. ECU's 3/4 court press gave the Shocks a lot of problems. The Shocks had 19 turnovers. The Shocks could just not get going offensively in the 2nd half and OT only scoring 25 points over the 25 minutes after halftime.

After shooting 14-24 (58.3%) including 4-7 (57.1%) on treys the Shocks could only manage 5-38 (13.2%) from the field in the 2nd half.

ECU this year is 9-0 in games where they have scored 60 or more and are 0-15 in games when they score under 60.

Nug tied her career high with 12 points on 4-9 shooting overall and 4-6 on treys but she also had 4 turnovers. Seraphine had 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists vs 2 turnovers. Asia and Mariah combined for 25 points but needed 25 shots to do it and the also combined for 9 turnovers, 3 by Asia and 6 by Mariah.

Tough loss for the Shocks against the last place Pirates but they simply struggled to score after halftime.
