Some interesting videos taken by perhaps a parent or fan from game two on twitter. You can really hear the crack the sounds from the stands and maybe the dugout. Make sure they are unmuted to get the audio.

By the way, in case your wandering what the home run reward HCKB tosses in lieu of a hand slap her it is:

After the year the Shocks have had with the long ball I would expect this tradition to continue for the foreseeable future. Maybe catch on across the nation. Perhaps HCKB should ask Hi-Chew for a small royalty. They are getting some free advertising for sure.

There are 72 pieces in this bag. I doubt HCKB thought she would need more than one bag to get through the season.

I'm thinking we will see Bailey Lange in the circle in his afternoon's game. Despite getting the win in both games yesterday she only threw 66 pitches in 4.2 innings of work. In addition, there is some chance of rain Sunday although right night looks kind of hit and miss scattered showers expected.

Is is Bailey Lange in the circle for the Shocks. Kassidy Scott for Tulsa.

Bailey not sharp today. Tulsa scores 2 in the first and are threatening again in the 2nd with a walk and a hit batter reaching with 1 out and Erin McDonald is coming in to pitch for the Shocks. Tulsa extends their lead to 3-0 after 2 innings.

In the top of the 3rd, a Kaylee Huecker single followed 1-out later by Sydney McKinney double to left that landed right on the chalk produced a run for the Shocks. Addison then lined an 0-2 pitch over the wall in straight away right for her 20th home run of the season and tying the game at 3-all. Tulsa committed a couple of errors after that but the Shocks could not take advantage.

A lead off double by Camryn and walk to Kaylee puts runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs i the top of the 4th. 9-hole hitter fails to get a bunt down and then hits into a 5-3 double play with Kaylee taking 2nd. Sydney singles to left center to score Kaylee but Urban's failure to get the bunt down cost the Shocks at least 1 run. Sydiney was got stealing to end the at bat. Shocks lead 4-3.

In thee bottom of the 4th Erin issues a 1-out 4-pitch walk. With 2 outs Tulsa gets back-to-back doubles one down the right field line and one down the left field line to score two runs and retake the lead at 5-4.

In the top of the 5th Addison was hit by a pitch and then Butters lifted a high fly ball to left that got just enough push form the wind to get out to the park as the Shocks are back in front at 6-5. Neleigh follwed with a ground headed into right filed but the Tulsa second basemen dover the ball and directed it away the the right fielder who also dove for the ball and tipped it further into the right field corner and Neleigh ends up with a triple. But Bailee, Ryleigh and Camryn could not deliver the run.

Another possible SC Top 10 play by Sydney at shortstop to rob Chenise Delce of a base hit leading off tehe bottom of the 5th.

Kaylee leads off the top of the 6th with line drive single to center then takes second on a wild pitch. Bailey Urban for the 2nd time in the game fails to bet a sac bunt down. This time though she didn't hit into a double play. She struck out. Sydney beat out a slow roller to 2nd mving Kaylee to 3rd but Addison and Madison could not deliver the run as the Shocks leave another run in limbo. The Shocks may yet very well regret those failures.

Tulsa gets there lead of batter on in the btoom of the 6th courtesy of an error on a fairly routine grounder by Erin. But Erin does a good job working through theat and gets the next 3 batters inlcuding a strike out of a hitter who was 3-3 in the game.

in the top of the 7th Neleigh walks to lead off the inning. Bailee stirkes out on a horrible call. Ryleigh hits a little duck-snort just out of reach of the 2nd baseman to move Lauren, who was pinch running for Neliegh to 2nd. Camry strikes out swing on a low and inside pitch no doubt influenced by the home plate umps vindictive strike zone (HCKB got on him a little earlier about his strike zone and it has gotten worse for the Shocks since them). However, Kaylee Huecker drives a ball the landed beyond the wrought iron perimeter fence along he street outside of the par,. Shocks up 9-5 needing to get 3 more outs. Kaylee having a terrific series to this point.

Erin sets Tulsa down in order in the 7th with the help of two nice catches in right field by Bailey Urban who had moved over from left in place of Addison for defensive reasons which proved to be a good move.

Didn't really seem like the Shocks play all that well in this game but they stats indicate otherwise. It was a really important win for the Shocks.

        Shocks 9-13-1
        Tulsa 5-5-1

3 key Hi-Chews for the Shocks. Addison and Madison with 2-run homers and Kaylee with the 3-run bomb produced 7 of the Shockers 9 runs. Small ball is definitely not this team's thing.

Erin was very workmanlike in this game give the Shocks 5.2 innings allowing only 2 runs on 3 hits and 1 walk. Very nice to see Erin get a chance and to succeed here late in the season.

And, of course, look for Sydney again on the SC Top 10 tonight.

Butters has joined Addison Barnard this year in breaking the previous season home run record. Barnard has 20 home runs and Butters has 17. Addison has also broken the single season record for RBI with 53 but Butters is closed behind at 49. The previous records were 16 home runs in 2014 and 50 RBI in 2016 by Cacy Willilams. Cacy played in 54 games in 2014 and 57 games in 2016. The Shocks have played 47 games so far this year with Butters playing all 47 and Addison playing in 44.

Caitlyn Bingham in the circle for the Shocks in the series finale. Chenise Delce getting the start for the Shocks.

In the top of the 1st Madison walked with 2 outs after a long battle with Delce. Neleigh then hit a high fly to left center that the left field reached up to catch at the fence. Needed another couple of feet.

In the bottom half of the 1st Ryleigh made an play very similar, if not a bit tougher than Sydney's play on Saturday, for the 2nd out. However, Chenise Delce lined a frozen rope to center that just cleared the fence for her 1st home run of the year. 3 of the 5 Tulsa hitters hit the ball pretty hard against Caitlyn. Tulsa leads 1-0.

Caitlyn better in the 2nd. A strikeout and 2 groundouts for an easy inning.

Shocks not doing much at the plate through 3 at bats a single and two walks each coming with two outs in each of the first three innings.

Tulsa gets back-to-back home runs leading off the bottom of the 3rd to left field. Caitlyn is done and has not looked effective at all in her appearances against Tulsa. Bailey Lang come in. Hope she is better than yesterday but right now Tulsa seems to be in control of this game.

I am going to be pulled from the game as well So maybe that change will help the Shocks. Time for another comeback win Shocks.

Shocks fall 10-6. Took too long to get the offense moving and the pitching just wasn't there today.

Shocks finish AAC play at 18-5-1.

The Shocker did get some unexpected help today as ECU knocked of USF and Georgina Corrick 1-0 in eight innings. Both teams only managed 2 hits in the game. In the top of the 8th inning ECU lead off with a double to left. Looked like Corrick would escape after a infield pop out and a strike out. USF intentionally walked the next batter to give then force outs at 1st, 2nd and 3rd. However, an error (not sure if it was a fielding error or a throwing error) allowed the runner from second to score. USF went down meekly in the bottom of the 8th on 7 pitches to secure the win and avoid being swept by USF.

With one final weekend of play the AAC standings are:

USF is 15-4 with a series at UCF
WSU is 18-5-1 and done with AAC play
Tulsa is 13-6 with a series at Houston
UCF is 13-6-1 and is hosting USF
Houston is 6-14 and is hosting Tulsa
ECU is 3-17 and is hosting Mempis
Memphis is 2-18 with a series at ECU

It looks to me that the Shockers have a 2nd place locked up. Tulsa and UCF can't catch them even with series sweeps next weekend. A series sweep by UCF vs USF/Corrick is very unlikely. I think the best we might hope for would be a spit but you know Corrick will probably pitch 3 of the games. If USF does sweep that series they will be the regular season champions. If USF wins the series 3-1 they will finish at 18-5 and I am guessing they would win the championship with the best winning % depending on how the AAC takes into account the tie game on the Shocker's record. Typically, you would count that as one-half of a win and one-half of a loss. That would give the Shocks a winning % of 18.5/*24 = 77.08%. USF's winning percentage would be 18/23 = 78.26%. Looks like what the Shocks will need is a USF-UCF split. Possible, but maybe not probable with Corrick pithing 3 games.

This is a big deal. The regular season champion gets a bye in the AAC tournament. They only have to win two games in the tournament to win the tournament. USF would be sitting pretty in scenario with Georgina Corrick most likely pitching both games.

Hopefully, the Shockers have done enough this season that they don't need to win the AAC Tournament in order to get a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

I am a little concerned about the current state of the Shocks pitching. They really weren't all that sharp in the Tulsa series especially over the last 3 games. Perhaps it's a good thing they only have the game with Oklahoma on Tuesday remaining. Could be the rest may be what they need at this point to get rejuvenated. Hopefully, the Shocks can be somewhat respectable against the Sooners.

In any, case this have been a fun year to follow Shocker softball. Hopefully, there is more fun to come.

You jinxed her.as she struck out in the 7th. But 3 strike outs in 186 at bats with a .442 batting average and some spectacular plays in the field will no doubt lead to spot on the AAC All-Conference 1st team most likely by unanimous vote.
