[Yes, position and getting a body on somebody goes without saying, I saw the Shox standing and observing, not going to the ball with both hands with no concern for their well-being or their opponents. Watch Carl Hall, he times the ball and then attacks and he isn't some great jumper like David Kyles. Not a lot of heart in this game.]

Applying proper rebounding fundamentals better not be going without saying especially when the Lady Shocks aren't consistently using those fundamentals. You simply can not attack the ball when you consistently allow your opponent to be between you and the basket. Well you can, but that usually ends up with a foul or knocking the ball out of bounds but rarely with a rebound. So first things first. This has only been a big problem over the last 6 games. Prior to that we were more or less holding our own on the boards. I wonder if the Shocks may be wearing down a bit. Our 6'2" post who maybe goes, IDK, 130 - 140 lbs has to expend a lot of energy battling night after night against bigger, stronger opponents. Our 6'0" power forward has more of a point forward mentality. Perhaps we have a quickness advantage on most MVC opponents but we don't seem to be putting it to good use. In any case, we are clearly getting out-worked on the boards. Hopefully, the Ladies can get it figured out for the stretch run.

Sunday's key games:
Northern Iowa (8-3) at Indiana State (4-6)
Bradley (4-7) at Illinois State (7-3)

Indiana State knocked off Norther Iowa 71-60 to drop the Panthers to 8-5.

Illinois State, as expected, dumped Bradley 82-63 to move into 3-way tie for first with the Shocks and MSU at 9-3 with six games remaining.

This coming week the Shocks and MSU host 9th place SIU and 10th place Evansville. Illinois State is at 5th place Creighton and 7th place Drake.
