The Shockers are picked fifth among the seven schools playing softball in the AAC. UCF is the pick to win the league.
Also, their 2021 schedule has been announced. They open next weekend at the Maverick Classic hosted by UT-Arlington. Conference weekends this year will be four-game affairs with a doubleheader on Saturday.
It appears that most of last year's seniors have returned. The Shockers are, however, missing a pitching coach. Morgan Lashley has moved on to Alabama as a Volunteer Assistant. Financial decision? Could not find a fit? Presley Bell, a former pitcher at Houston, is in her second year as a graduate assistant. Perhaps she will fill that role without the title.
