    Shocks 77-49 Northwestern State

As soon as the Lady Demons boarded the bus, this game was not in doubt.

Jessica led the scoring with 17 off the bench, 7-10 FG - pressure defense did its job of creating turnovers and points - the four freshmen, Krystle, Kelsey, Molly and Alex, all made solid contributions - but 25 turnovers, ugh!

The bench gave the team energy. Many of the turnovers were very careless. Much better effort than the exhibition. This will be a nice team as they improve throughout the season.

I agree, the freshman made a very positive impression. I was espeicially pleased with the solid, aggressive play of the two true freshman, Alex and Mollie. I also like what I am seeing form the two Georgia Juco transfers, Nicole and Jasmine. We have not had much luck with Juco transfers and I wasn't sure what we might be getting since we picked Nicole and Jasmine up late but that made some nice contributions also and they play hard.

Obviously need to clean up the turnovers.

I suppose the good news is that the second unit was as good as the starting unit. The bad news may be that the second unit is as good as the starting unit.

Let's see how we compete against LSU on Monday. A big challenge, but also a big opportunity for the Shocks.

I don't believe we've seen the true starting unit yet. It will get mixed up a bit, but Sancho won't be part of it. She's just a step behind the rest. LSU will be a nice test.

I'm not finding links to the WBB box scores or statistics on goshockers.com. Am I just not looking in the right place?

It's not up. I'm going to Northwestern's site to see if they have visitor's stats. Our web site is not real strong in that regard. I follow other team's and their stats are up immediately.

This has not been an issue in the past. In the past our box scores and stats have always been avialable in a very timely manner. Not sure what is different this year.

I shouldn't complain, I remember typing stats with a manual typewriter and then running them through a mimeograph. I'm sure they will start getting them up in a timely manner.

Yes, normally there is a link to the box score on the same page as the game article or on the Schedule page, but not so far this year. I will call in the morning to ask.

I got them off the rivals yahoo page. I'm still waiting for an official box score that has the team minutes at 200 instead of 202.

I noticed that, too. And only 199 minutes for Northwestern State.
