Sunday's game is still scheduled for 12 p.m.

The Memphis Tigers have a 21-20 record with a 3-6 record in the AAC. They took two from ECU, were swept by Tulsa, and won one against UConn.

With this series being the fourth of seven for each team in the AAC, the statistics are now for conference only.

Ashley Threatt has an OPS of 1.223. The other primary offensive threats for Memphis are Baylee Smith and Ryleigh Aungst.

Karli Perque (ERA of 4.75 and WHIP of 1.75) and Mariah Nichols (6.26 and 1.84) are the main pitchers for the Tigers.

The records for the Shockers are 23-19 and 4-5.

In conference play for the Shocks, Ryleigh (1.298), Butters (1.120 and three homers), and Sydney (.908) lead the way.

Erin has almost two-thirds of the conference innings. Her ERA is 3.29 with a WHIP of 1.33. Hailey's numbers are 5.11 and 1.22. (Note: The WHIP numbers given on the Web site are (minimally) incorrect. The site does not understand that ".1" of an inning is one-third, not one-tenth.)

Although Caitlin's conference numbers are dreadful, her outing against Arkansas was encouraging.

The whips are fairly close on the stat page walks+hits/IP but off because of the .1 instead of using .33, .66 or .99 like the era calculation. After looking and
recalculating the ERA's using earned runs instead of overall runs allowed I believe below are the correct era's. Maybe a glictch in the stat software or an error
      in the data input

Some quick done math on what they should be:

McDondald - Conf era: 2.55, Conf Whip: 1.33, Overall Season Era: 3.46, Overall season Whip:1.26
Bingham - Conf era: 7.42, Conf Whip: 2.65, Overall Season Era: 3.26, Overall season Whip:1.55
Martinez - Conf era: 3.97, Conf Whip: 1.21, Overall Season Era: 3.17, Overall season Whip:1.28

Good catch on the ERAs also being incorrect!

It appears that there is a free live telecast of these games today.

On another note, the LiveStats are done by Sidearm. Rather than each game having its own link, there is just one "page" for all games for that school. One game stays up until the next game. So a game may be up for three days or, in the case of a DH, the first game will be up for thirty minutes before being replaced by the second game. Ugh!

Erin McDonald in he circle for the Shocks.

Memphis started So. Kailey Hilderbrand who has only pitched 14.1 innings prior to today but 7 of those were in a complete game win over UConn 5 days ago where she allowed only 1 run on 5 htis and not walks.

Against the Shocks Hilderbrand failed to record an out giving up a McKinney infield single, a Buck triple, and a Butters double and she was done. Mariah Nichols comes on in relief. She wild pitches Butters to 3rd, walks Derrico who stole seccond, walks Nickerson to load the bases and then walked Herring to make it 3-0. The Shocks were sitting pretty but Jamele and Huecker bot popped out on the infield and Glover grounded out to 3rd as the Shocks failed really cash in big. I hope that does not come back to haunt them.

Memphis made 3-1 in the 2nd on back-to-back-to back 1-out singles in the 2nd.

Memphis gets a walk and a bunt single to open the 2nd but fail to advance the runners any further than that. Still 3-2 Shocks after 3.

I have head out for a little bit .

Got back just in time to see Erin give up back-to-back 2-out doubles in the 6th to make it Shocks 3 - Memphis 2 after 6.

Shocks put runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs but could not get the clutch hit.

Memphis gets a high chop over the drawn in Shocker 3rd baseman. The next batter laid down a good sac bunt was called for stepping out of the box. Erin does the job for Memphis though with a wild pitch. A single up the middle scores the tying run with the batter advancing to 2nd on the throw home. A bunt single moves the runner from 2nd to 3rd with the runner on 1st taking off for 2nd to draw a throw and the runner on 3rd trying to score but the Shocks throw her out at the plate. A fly ball to left ends the inning and were getting some free softball.

The Shocks eek out a run with 1-out in the 8th. Butters strikes out on a horrible call (the 2nd one in this at bat --- on the 1st one HCKB got herself tossed) on a 3-2 pitch. The count went to 3-2 on Laurie before she drilled a line drive directly over the shortstop's head that went to the wall and easily unloaded the 3 baserunners who were moving on the pitch. Shocks are up 7-3. Been a long, long inning. Bailee walked and Memphis making another pitching change. Neleigh singled to left center to score Laurie from 2nd and the runners move up to 2nd and 3rd on the throw to the plate. Mauriana delivers a line drive double into the left field corner to score 2 more as the Shocks now lead 10-3. The Shock have scored 7 two-out runs since HCKB was ejected. Maybe she knew what she was doing getting kicked out (although she certainly appeared totally pissed off).

Erin gives up a lead off double and a 1-out single in the bottom of the 8th but Memphis fails to score.

        Shockers: 10 - 10 - 0 - 10
        Memphis: 3 - 11 - 2 - 9

Shocks almost paid for not taking advantage of the bases loaded, no out situation in the 1st. Scored 3 runs to oipen he game and 7 runs to close the game.

It was not a particularly impressive performance overall by the Shocks. But a win is a win and they will no doubt take them any way they can get them.

I'll be out-of-pocket for most, if not all, of Game 2.

Shocks sweep the DH with an 8-4 win in game 2. Caitlin went the 1st 4 innings allowing 4 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks. Not great but not bad considering the demons Caitlin has been battling. Hailey came on in the 5th after Caitlyn gave up a lead off home run. She allowed one single in each of her 3 innings but nothing else.

Butters led the way on offense with 2 doubles and 3 RBI. Ryleigh and Adi each chipped in 2 RBI.

              Game Three

Erin is in the circle for the Shocks, Mariah Nichols for Memphis.

Sydney led off the first with a walk and advanced to second on a sac bunt by Ryleigh. Sydney was caught in a rundown after dreams of reaching third on the sac bunt were only half met, but made it to third anyway when Memphis dropped a throw. Butters and Laurie loaded the bases when they walked on nine pitches. Another walk, this time to Bailee on a full count brought Sydney in from third. When Mauriana walked to bring in the second run for the Shocks, the Tigers brought in Bayleigh Wisher to pitch. Kaylee then hit a grand slam to left to give the Shockers a 6-0 lead. Wylie also walks before the Tigers get off the field. Six walks for the Shocks in the top of the first and a 6-0 lead.

All of this inspires me to go mow the yard.

Nichols walks 5 of the 1st 6 batters she faces to force in 2 runs for the Shocks. Memphis brings in Bayleigh Wisher in relief an Kaylee Huecker welcome her with a grand slam home run.

Shocks take a 6-0 lead in the top of the 1st.

The Shocks cruise to a 15-3 five inning run-rule win. Erin went the first 3 inning giving up all 3 Memphis runs on 3 hits including a 2-run homer. Caitlyn pitched the final 2 innings facing only 7 batters.

In addition to Kaylee's grand slam in the 1st, Butters had 3 RBI on a bases loaded double and Baillee Nickerson contributed 2 RBI. Neleigh Herring added a solo home run. The Shocks score their 15 runs on only 7 hits aided greatly by 13 walks by Memphis pitching and 3 errors by Memphis. Had to be an ugly game to watch especially for a Memphis fan.

Next up for the Shocks is last place ECU, 2-10 in AAC play, who will visit Wilkins Stadium on next Thursday, Friday and Saturday (with Sunday being Easter).

Shocks need to make sure they take care of business against ECU.

Memphis scored in their first on a walk, sac bunt and double.

The Shocks scored another run in the second on two more walks, a ground out, and an error, Ryleigh scoring the run.

Four more runs in the third with Sydney having an RBI single and Laurie driving in two runs with her single. The second Shocker run of the inning came on a throwing error. The Tigers had a two-run homer in their half to make the score 11-3 after three innings.

In the fourth, the Shocks put up three more runs. After two were out, a walk, single, and walk loaded the bases, and Butters unloaded them with a double. Caitlin pitched the bottom of the fourth, getting two strike outs.

The Shockers completed their run-rule win in the fifth inning, scoring their last run on a solo, pinch-hit homer by Neleigh. Caitlin issued a walk in the fifth, that on a full count after battling back from a 3-0 count. That walk was her only base runner allowed in her two innings.

                  Shockers 15-3(5) Memphis

The Shocks only had seven hits but were gifted with thirteen free passes. Caitlin's short outing offers more encouragement that she is overcoming her woes of earlier in the season.

After Easter the Shocks finish off at 2nd place Tulsa and then at home against 1st place USF. The Shocks destiny looks to be in their own hands.

USF is at UConn this week, then hosts Memphis and finishes at the Shocks.

Tulsa hosts UCF and Wichita State before finishing at UConn.

If the Shocks want to catch USF they may have to win out.
