Unofficial results show the Redbirds are indeed MVC Champions. @1972Shocker: , have you seen men's team results yet?

It did not appear to be a very good day at all for any of the Wichita State athletes, men or women. Even comparing relative bests, WSU runners were far off their bests, as much as I could tell. You could say that the conditions were different and more difficult, but it seems many other teams were not nearly as affected when comparing best times.

It makes me wonder if there was anything underlying with the team......transportation issues....bad hotel or food or just an off day....for seemingly everyone?

The Shocker women ran a decent race Sunday at Indiana State but Illinois State was just the better team. At the 4k mark the score was actually 48-51 in favor of WSU but Illinois State passed a few runners in the last 1000 meters while WSU got passed by a few runners and that made the 10 point difference. I think in a bigger race (Regionals) WSU may have a better chance because of how many runners will be between Aliphine and Illinois State's #1 runner. Aliphine was just cruising most of the way and her time was in no way a result of her current level. It was basically a training run for her.

Overall it was a shame to see the streak end, a truly remarkable streak that spanned 3 different head cross country coaches (think about how tough that was). Congrats ladies and get 'em back at the NCAA Regionals in 2 weeks!
