UNI fans are reporting on MVCfans.com and panthernation.com that reigning MVC POY Jackie Kalin has sustained a season-ending injury (apparently a torn knee ligament) and will miss the 2011-2012 season.
She will apply for a 6th year of eligibility which I would expect she will be granted.
Jacqui missed all but 5 games of the 2008-09 season also with a knee injury. I do not know if this is the same knee or not.
Best wishes to Jacqui for a complete recovery.
Hate to see one of the MVC's top players go down.
UNI will still be pretty good this year, but you don't lose a POY and not feel it. Probably will make MSU the odds on favorite to win the league this year.
