Any comments on the Lady Shockers basketball schedule for this season?
IMO it appears to be our toughtest non-con schedule we have put together in quite a while. Interesting on how the LSU game came to be -- found this on the LSU web site:
Apparently CMU misintepreted how many exempt games were on their schedule.
I only see two of the non-con games where I am pretty confident of the Shocks booking a win - Northwestern State and Winthrop - both at Koch Arena. Not sure who we will be facing in the Long Beach Tournament but that will be a nice pre-Christmas trip for the Shocks.
UC Davis and Central Michigan were very good last year. UC Davis beat the Shock by 12 in Koch Arena and CMU blasted the Shocks by 25 in Mt. Pleasant. CMU did graduate its top 3 scorers however. A couple of nice home-and-home deals. Not sure if they continue beyond this year or not.
Arizona and K-State will also be very tough opponents on the road.
We will have to play well to be around 0.500 going into MVC play, but this shedule should prepare us very well for the conference season.
I like the tougher schedule. Good job Jody and staff.

The Lady Tigers will now take on Wichita State in the season-opener on Monday, Nov. 14 in Wichita, Kan. LSU was previously slated to take on Central Michigan but the Chippewas had to cancel the contest because it put them over the NCAA regulated allotment of games.
