  • 'Bolts Girls Picked for CC 7-peat

Coach 'Bolts Lady Shockers are picked to win their 7th consecutive MVC XC championship, but only by the slimmest of margins over Illinois State. 'Bolts girls have been a huge contributor to our recent All-Sports trophy success.

Shocker men are picked 6th. We need to get the guys going.

ST. LOUIS - Missouri Valley Conference cross country coaches voted for the Wichita State University women's cross country team to claim a seventh-straight conference crown, while the men's team was picked to finish sixth in the conference's annual preseason coaches' poll released Monday.

Yeah it will probably be a big battle for the ladies this year with an improving Illinois State team on the women's side. While the Shockers do have some up-front big hitters like Aliphine Tuliamuk and Patrober Murindat, they will really need to get help from runners 3-5 to win the title this year.

The men have been 7th 2 years in a row so being picked 6th and moving into the top-5 shoud be a goal this year. Building a foundation of sustainable success is very important for the men and Coach Hunter in his 2nd year.

    Go Shockers!

Wichita State Head Cross Country Coach Kirk Hunter previews the 2011 men's and women's cross country seasons.

Sounds like he is trying to convince his Ladies that they are the underdog to Illinois State.
