Word has it Griggs applied for the position. I don't see him sending players to WSU in the near future. LOL

If she were smart, she would pick up Doug Chance as an assistant, if he were even interested, that is.

If she's got a boxer, she's got my vote.

Wichita State University Softball Coach Kristi Bredbenner describing how her team will play.

This video from the SIO has been up for almost a month, but I have not seen an earlier reference to it, so I thought I would throw it out there. It has much the same information as Suellentrop's article.

Are you suggesting that on the side, he is the hitting coach on the new staff?

Are you serious? How do you go from the bottom of the Mo Valley to coaching in the SEC?

He was (assistant) coaching in the SEC (Auburn for six years and Georgia for two years) before he came here, with a one year gap as the Northwestern Lousiana State head coach.

And I think he had a decent rep as a hitting coach in the SEC. Of course, the quality of player the SEC programs attract may make that an easier chore than it might be at Wichita State or its peers in the MVC.

Mike seemed like a nice guy. Glad to see he found something and I wish him well. Perhaps his niche is as an assistant with a narrower focus.

I think all of us liked Pooch and are happy that he found work. Especially with 2 kids and a wife to provide for. I was just surprized that he landed in the SEC.

Easy answer. Ole Miss doesn't care about softball. Love the guy but his recruiting capability and offense speaks for itself. Agree with most, he found a job to support a family. Definitely going to a place that will finish in the bottom three in the SEC. Plus he is working with someone that has gone through assistants at Memphis like a tea bag. I wish him luck.

FM, Ashley Lynn and Tina Lewis were both pretty good players that Judy Favor left for Walton to go with Lindsey Craig. I think Favor recruited a few good players but could not develop kids and her screaming in your face coaching style didn't work with the players she had.
I am optomisitc that coach B will be able to recruit and develop players. At the same time I wonder if we considered looking down the road at the Butler coach when you look at the type of players that he has signed on a juco budget. From what I understand Kansas jucos cant even pay room and board yet he was able to sign kids like Clarissa Navarro (Team USA Baseball) and Tammy Williams (Team USA Softball and Big 10 Freshman of the Year). In case you didn't know, Tammy signed at Butler and was offered a full ride at Northwestern 1 week before school started. So she ended up bolting for the Big 10.
I am not sure if Bredbenner signed the All American 3b (Campbell) at Emporia State, or if she was a hold over from the previous coach, but if she can sign a few more of those, we will be alright.
